PSEUDO-CHRISTIANITY
USA
Editor: A few readers have asked about Dr. Kemble and I apologize we have never published his biography. I shall do so now. Dr. Kemble has been a minister for over thirty years. Being the son of a minister, he grew up in church, and felt the calling of God upon his life at an early age. He has preached to interested groups all  across the country, as well as numerous tours to Canada and overseas. He has spoken to churches of  just about every Protestant denomination, led numerous Bible studies in  homes, has preached at camps, on television and radio, and has even preached from a loft in a barn. He pastors a congregation in south Texas, and makes several preaching trips each year. He gives all praise, honour and glory to the Lord Jesus Christ for anything good that comes as a result of His efforts.
There is a cancer which has struck the heart of many in the Church today. It is not a physical cancer, but a spiritual cancer, which invades and corrupts to the very soul. It may be accurately called pseudo-Christianity .
If you aren’t familiar with the word ‘pseudo,’ it is a term which describes something that appears to be real, but is actually not real at all. Something that is ‘pseudo’ only has the appearance of being genuine.
So, a pseudo-Christian is someone who may exude a facade of being a Christian – who goes to church, and perhaps even sings in the choir – but who in reality leaves his God and his religion at the door of the church when he leaves, and never gives God or His Law  another thought throughout the rest of the week. They may appear to be Christians, but they have no walk with God, and obey not His Law. In fact, many pseudo-Christians actually even hate the Law of God, and call those who love God’s Law evil.
Have you ever known one of these pseudoÂ-Christians? If you haven’t met one yet, you will. Today, more and more Christians are beginning to more accurately fit into the category of pseudo-Christian.
What else can one expect when so many ministers across the country preach their weekly sermons from Psychology Today, Reader’s Digest or the latest best selling novel. Some preachers are so spiritually shallow that they even use sermonettes they download off the internet instead of digging into the Word for themselves! The spiritual meat that is to be found in God’s Word has been abandoned, and we are fed tasteless pablum and self serving platitudes, that tickle our ears and make us feel good about ourselves, when “Thus saith the LORD” is what we really need to hear.
The Word of God says, “The soul that sinneth, it shall die,” while the pseudo-Christian says “Live and let live,” and never once confronts the sinner with his sin. The Bible condemns adultery, sodomy, miscegenation and witchcraft, while the pseudo-Christian says, “I’m okay, you’re okay,” and “To each his own.” It seems that tolerance has either become equal to or has replaced Christianity in the minds of many. But the Word of God is anything but tolerant when it comes to sin.
The Word of God is also anything but tolerant when it comes to false religions. The pseudo-Christian has no problem fellowshipping with the followers of false religions and the enemies of Christ. But the Bible says: “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?” Amos 3:3 and “What fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? Or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, and will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty. ” 2 Corinthians 6:14-18
Jesus said “If any man will come after me, let him deny himself; and take up his cross, and follow me.” and “Thou shall love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind.” Therefore the true Christian loves God’s Word with a passion, no matter how much that Word goes against the grain of society.
The Pseudo-Christian says we don’t have to worry about keeping God’s Law. But Jesus said that until heaven and earth pass, not one jot or tittle of the Law shall be done away with. He even went so far as to say that anyone who acts as though the Law of God has been done away with (or that it is “nailed to the cross,” as so many teach today) – and who teaches others so, will be least in the Kingdom of God. Matthew 5:17-19
Pseudo-Christianity seeks peace and harmony at all costs, even if it means compromising with evil. But Jesus said “Think not that I come to send peace on the earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.” You’re either going to stand for Christ, and stand for righteousness, or you’re not. You can’t serve two masters. You are going to either hate the one and love the other, or else hold to the one and despise the other. There is no room for compromising with evil in the life of a Christian. Don’t you think it’s time we put pseudo-Christianity out of our lives, and replace it with the real thing?
I encourage you to have nothing to do with pseudo-Christianity (1 Corinthians 5:11), but rather, seek God’s Word and live according to its precepts, for: “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper. The ungodly are not so: but are like the chaff which the wind driveth away. Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous. For the LORD knoweth the way of the righteous: but the way of the ungodly shall perish.” Psalm 1

In a powerful message delivered in Vancouver in late October, Evangelist Ted Weiland from Nebraska touched on the New York/Washington tragedy, while adding his own perspective. His message centered on the power of God’s invitation for protection in Psalm 91. He alluded to the World War One story of the 91st Brigade, which he believes is true inspiration for all Christians in these troublesome times. For those readers who have not read the story, brief particulars are as follows:
In his book, “Life Understood,” R.S. Lawson, the late British scientist and engineer, described an account of a British Regiment under the command of a Colonel Whitelesey that served in World War One for more than four years without losing a single man. His 91st Brigade had been engaged in three of the bloodiest battles of WWl., Chateau Thierry, Belle Wood and the Argonne. Mr. Lawson was mystified when he determined that other units of the armed force engaged in these battles suffered up to 90% casualties, yet Colonel Whitelesey’s 91st Brigade did not suffer a single one. When he sought the reason for this remarkable feat, he discovered that the officers and men of the 91st Brigade had memorized and regularly repeated the 91st Psalm.
Quite a testimony to God, don’t you think?
