Why is the church of today so bereft of knowledge?
I believe because the leadership, throughout decades, have failed to teach Bible truth – mainly due to their own lack of teaching and ignorance of revelation by the Holy Spirit, particularly regarding the Israel identity and the kingdom of GOD on earth.
These leaders have only the mainstream, view that the present Bible Israel is that country in the Middle East, which was given the title Israel in 1947/8.
Scripture is perfectly clear about Israel being MY PEOPLE, OR HIS PEOPLE, but not as the name of an old, or modern country.
Without knowledge of that Bible connection, then Scriptural wisdom and understanding are non-existent. Little wonder without such basic understanding we revert to such doctrine of simply “escaping sin” and spending eternity in some ethereal invention of heaven.
My own experience of mainstream church doctrine – is their teaching only of personal salvation, offering heaven (somewhere without knowing the place), or eternal torment (again somewhere unknown) and none else. My great friend Robert Phillips describes it as “a salvage plan, rather than a Salvation Plan”, an escapist mentality.
In truth, the Bible sets out an amazing and immense Plan of Restoration and Restitution, with JESUS at the centre, as Saviour and King, with Israel being the prototype, or trial model, of resurrected humanity.
The Bible states in Genesis 1:1-2:Â
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters.
In other words, Planet Earth was similar to how Astronomers describe the Moon and Mars, etc today. Our Sovereign GOD brought about a wondrous change, from that of deserted shapeless wilderness, to the beauty of a paradise existence. With which HE was well pleased.
“And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good”
 During the sixth day HE created ‘man’ with the specific purpose of looking after regenerated earth, changed by GOD from its barren state. However, according to Genesis 2:4-7 “there was not a man to till the ground” (very important to recognise that the earth needed to be replenished!). so, HE formed Adamic ‘man’.
As Adamic humanity, we were to follow the Lord’s instruction to ensure Planet Earth was skilfully taken care of –
“And God blessed them (humanity), and God said unto them, be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.” Genesis 1.28
 The international evidence today is that mankind has totally failed to do that.
WE SHOULD BEAR IN MIND HERE, THAT GOD CONTINUALLY REMINDS US THROUGH THE SCRIPIURES – “I CHANGE NOT”.
 Just in case humanity might fail, He does not have Plans A-Z, in case of errors in “the original plan”, therefore His plan, is for this planet earth to always be the ultimate “paradise”, His Kingdom on earth. Throughout the Old Testament we see the plan forthcoming with the Patriarchs, Prophecy and People, His People Israel. That influence continues through the New Testament.
The whole Bible shows us very clearly, how Our Sovereign GOD continues to move in His Time and His Season, to bring about this perfect Kingdom on Earth. The Disciples asked JESUS – “teach us how to pray?” (we should notice they did not ask Him to teach them a prayer!). JESUS gave them a set of the (10) principles for prayer, the third of which was, “thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth”, a vital part of Our Lord’s Plan for mankind and Planet Earth.
However, as “fallen humanity”, not the Lord, we continue to make errors, misinterpret Scripture, invent our own doctrine, follow tradition and ritual, insist on believing passed down erroneous theology.
ALL MISSING THE POINT OF GOD’S CONSISTENT PLAN FOR PLANET EARTH.
As an aside, the writer spent a year in Cyprus at the time of Turkey invading the Island in 1975. Since I was a Government employee (not deskbound!), the families and Civil Servants there, were ex-patriated to safety and replacement individuals sent in to continue the operation of our British Sovereign bases. At the time we had a family of 6, my father living with us, and had recently moved into a property needing substantial renovation.
I pondered on why I should be in such a position! However, the Lord was intervening in my life, since during that 12 months, my wife asked JESUS to be her Saviour, my children were immersed in Christian literature, so when I returned home life had changed considerably. Hence, I also surrendered my life to JESUS at that time. The Bible states that “GOD is no respecter of persons” and most certainly a few domestic issues were not going to get in the way of the Lord bringing Salvation.
We see it in Scripture too, when the Lord intends to undertake an element of His Plan, nothing will prevent it. Even when mistakes take place, but also absolute obedience; looking at two examples, but there are many other passages to study of course, Abram was given the promise of many peoples coming forth from him – Genesis 15:2-4 & 18 (KJV)
2 And Abram said, Lord GOD, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4 And, behold, the word of the LORD came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir…………..18 In the same day the LORD made a covenant with Abram, saying, Unto thy seed have I given this land, from the river of Egypt unto the great river, the river Euphrates:
 The Covenant Promise comes forth, with Our Sovereign GOD declaring that Abram will have a natural heir, which Abram and his wife severely doubted. In the natural way most would have taken the same view as this couple.
We know from the Bible passages in Genesis, that this major conflict of “flesh and Spirit” (which still causes massive misunderstandings today) comes into play.
Almighty GOD had spoken, but Abram and Sarai in addition to their natural views, were also impatient, so they made the decision “to help” GOD fulfil His Promises, which lead to the emergence of Ishmael and the many problems, which still affect us today.
DESPITE THE “FLESHLY MISTAKE”, THIS DID NOT SHOCK, OR DISTURB OUR GOD, SINCE “HE KNOWS THE END FROM THE BEGINNING”.
The reaction of Abraham and Sarai is very much like the modern Christian Church attitude to Scripture, it cannot mean that in modern parlance! After all these past centuries, poor Father GOD has become too old and we as the church need to take the initiative. Christianity today is still in that fleshly realm, thinking Our Almighty GOD needs our help to reinstate the failing Planet Earth.
Help from “fallen man” what utter nonsense!
Abram and Sarai had taken a step prematurely in their divine promises, but we know Abram, as re-named Abraham, redeemed the situation later, by total guidance of the Holy Spirit in his willingness to sacrifice the promised seed, his son Isaac, this time not the flesh, but the Spirit.
In another patriarch, we find the youngest son of Israel, Joseph. On the more positive side Joseph had those visions and dreams concerning his future role in the Lord’s Plan and fully believed in them and by the Holy Spirit of GOD was expectant for their fulfilment.
(Genesis 37:5-11) –Â 5 And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. 6 And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: 7 For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf. 8 And his brethren said to him, Shalt thou indeed reign over us? or shalt thou indeed have dominion over us? And they hated him yet the more for his dreams, and for his words. 9 And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. 10 And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? 11 And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.
 Joseph had dreams and visions, which portrayed events that would take place in the future and he like Abraham had to wait a long time. Abraham as he became, was more impatient than Joseph in waiting for GOD. Joseph took note “BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD“. Believing the truth of GOD
Despite all the unpleasant and undeserved set-backs in his life. He was treacherously sold into slavery, falsely accused of an awful crime, imprisoned and was not remembered for his kind acts left in prison. Yet he held firmly to the belief of GOD’S visions for him.
Today, the world is falling apart and the church seemingly see GOD doing nothing to make it right. Therefore, they find their own ideas and visions and set them in motion and then find they achieve little, or nothing. The very problems the secular world faces, we bring into the church and many get anxious. They agree with the secular world that the Bible is out of date; they agree that life has moved on to such a degree, that the church has to join the political, cultural, scientific, agendas etc.,- but with Biblical love and tolerance.
THEY HAVE NO SENSE OF BIBLE TRUTH SEEING THE PROPHETIC WORD BY “BEING STILL AND KNOWING HE IS GOD“
 The Bible is very clear that our role today is to be “watchmen” and wait. If Abraham had waited as he was told, Ishmael and all his aggravation would have been avoided, with no Islamic world around!! With Joseph, he had the vision all the time in his mind that the Sovereign Lord GOD had a destiny for him and what he endured was for a purpose. HE WAS OBEDIENT TO THE CALL.
(Genesis 45:4-5) – 4 And Joseph said unto his brethren, come near to me, I pray you. And they came near. And he said, I am Joseph your brother, whom ye sold into Egypt. 5 Now therefore be not grieved, nor angry with yourselves, that ye sold me hither: for God did send me before you to preserve life.
In all His Plans, Mighty GOD, through JESUS, carries out His Prophetic Word exactly to a pattern, we therefore should follow His Plan and Pattern.
WE ARE INHERITORS OF AN EVERLASTING COVENANT TO BE HIS PEOPLE, WHICH COMMENCED AT ABRAHAM
LIKE JOSEPH BEFORE HIM, GOING BEFORE HIS FAMILY, THE DIVINE GOVERNMENT WILL BE SET UP ON EARTH
JESUS FULFILLED THE COVENANT, WILL AND TESTAMENT, AT CALVARY AND HE WILL BE KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS
GOD SAID IT WE SHOULD BELIEVE IT
