THE ENSIGN MESSAGE

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE LAW

By

USA

In Deuteronomy 11:1, we are told, Therefore thou shalt love the Lord thy God, and keep his charge and his commandments, and his statutes and judgments, always. [or forever] In Psalm 119:160 we read, Thy word is true from the beginning; And every one of your righteous judgments endureth forever. And one more from the Old Testament, Deuteronomy 4:8, What nation is there so great, that hath statutes and judgments so righteous as all this law, which I set before you this day.

For the last one hundred years or so the enemies of truth have started a movement declaring that the law is put away and we are now under grace. I find it odd that the Apostle Paul, who had studied the Scriptures for years as well as spending time with the other apostles would not know that it had been put away. Why didn’t Peter who was very close to Christ know the law was abrogated? Why would Paul state in Romans 3:31, Do we then make void the law through faith, God forbid; yea, we establish the law. This statement along with what Christ said about His laws leaves no doubt that His laws prevail forever.

There are many misconceptions regarding the law. One is the false idea that it is a religious law. There is nothing religious about murder, rape, theft, etc. These are civil laws, statutes and judgments to put the evil out of the land or to make retribution for theft along with many other laws for His people to follow. His law was one of the greatest gifts to us and was in no means a curse, as it has been deceitfully implied by thousands of pastors every week.

One thing I have noticed over the years is, that the people that have the most animosity for God’s laws are the ones that have never read them. The wisdom contained in them is greater than Solomon’s. A few years ago I was talking to a young Schofield Baptist and I asked him if he knew what God’s penalty was for a man who stole a car. He laughed and said that automobiles are not mentioned in the Bible. Of course they weren’t mentioned, but the pistol was not mentioned either. The pistol now takes the place of the sword, and we are to have one. Yes, the penalty for car theft is covered in the Bible and retribution is far worse than a few years in prison and I can assure you that he would never steal one  again.

Some countries have their own ways of taking care of their problems that are superior to ours. They do not have a drug problem in the Philippines. Did it take millions of dollars to eliminate the problem? Not at all. It is a mandatory death sentence for anyone trafficking in drugs. This is a monumental problem here and a drug dealer is worse than a murderer as he could be responsible for many deaths and robberies needed to buy them. If we were to execute a drug dealer in front of a large audience and show it on live TV, how many executions would it take for the drug business to go away? This is as close to God’s law as you can get.

Years ago my Daughter lived in Saudi-Arabia for a year. She said that she could park her  car  on  any street with the windows open and leave her camera along with other items  on the  seat with  no  concern for them. There are no armored cars over there  as  they use regular vans for the large movement of cash. They use young boys for bank messengers that carry valuable stocks, checks etc from  one  bank  to another. The reason there is virtually no theft  over there is because you lose  a hand  if you’re  caught. The penalty is too great to even entertain the thought. God has a better way for dealing with this, it’s called retribution which is too long to go into the details. There are very few men walking around  with  one hand over there. This is not God’s way but it is better than to tolerate the billions of dollars that are stolen from our people every year along with the  many deaths that occur from these robberies, and instead have the obligation to house and feed them for years in our prisons.

Many people, including Christians, can not understand why a God of love would demand the death penalty for capital crimes like murder, kidnapping, homosexuality, rape, etc. It is not for punishment or vengeance. It is only to put the evil out of the land. When the penalty is great enough one does not seriously entertain the thought. The result of this is so that the majority of His people can live in peace without fear, along with a high standard of morality.

I’m sure the two countries I mentioned must laugh at us for putting up with this year after year with no end in sight. We have more people in our prisons than many other nations combined. Do you have any idea of what it costs us every year. Under God’s law, there are no prisons, only jails to hold them till they go before the judge. There are no lawyers under God’s law. Christ never had a good word for them. They along with our courts and corrupt legal system have made a mockery of justice. Do you think for one minute that an intelligent Christian Judge without  the theatrics of the attorneys for the  juries’ benefit would let O J walk free? Juries are never mentioned in the Bible. To see how low our justice system has become just watch how Hillary has controlled it for her benefit.

1st Timothy 1:9 the law is not made for the righteous man,  but for the lawless and disobedient, for the ungodly,… for murderers, etc. Does that mean the afore-mentioned are no longer under the law? Without laws we have anarchy, and no civilized society can exist without them. We are in a state of anarchy and lawlessness today as our president has defied our constitution by taking control of our Department of Justice and our FBI. It has now become impossible to bring these criminals to justice, and most of our pastors couldn’t care less as that is too worldly to be involved in. They have the feeling that the only purpose and calling they have is to get more people saved and into their  church.

If you were to ask the average Judeo-Christian today, what one of God’s law do you object to? You would probably be met with a blank stare, as all they know is that it has been put away.  The law was given to our ancestors thousands of years  ago  and  every time they did not obey it and went after other gods, they were brought low time  after  time.  Every  time He did this, it got so bad that they cried unto the Lord and He delivered them. This  happened  time  after time and it’s happening to us now because we never learn from history. What makes you feel that  He would never do this to us, the people that have heard His voice and followed Him for the last 2,000 years? It’s because He said He would chastise those that he loved. Since we have trashed His laws, thrown Him out of our halls of government and our schools while our pastors have no use for His perfect law of   liberty.

We as a nation are without excuse, as it is recorded in both Deuteronomy 28 and Leviticus 26, the blessings if we keep His  laws and  the  curses if we  do not.   It’s time   our pastors wake up and realize we are no longer under His blessings but under His curses. Our nation has changed dramatically in the last 100 years as we started to deviate from His laws to our man made laws. We are now faced with enormous debt, including national, state, local and personal debt. Our immorality now exceeds that of Sodom and Gomorrah, along with our killing of over a million unborn babies a year. Murder, rape and robberies are common place today and a drug problem with no will to stop it. In this year we have seen the worst weather we have ever had, with devastating floods on a daily basis along with tornados, hurricanes and even an earthquake. We have also had a steady stream of devastating forest fires. Do you think that we as nation have the right to sing God Bless America? The blessings and the curses are just as valid today as they were thousands of years ago as our God never changes. If we were not under His curses today He would not be a covenant keeping God and our faith is in vain.

Many of today ‘s Christians say they are New Testament Christians, and therein lays our problem, as virtually all the wisdom and knowledge of the ages is found in the Old Testament. Even our modern day problem of inflation is addressed, it’s causes as well as the results of it. Many of our pastors regard Mystery Babylon as a literal city like NYC. When Christ said, Come out of her my people, was this addressed only to the people of NYC? Mystery Babylon is an economic, governmental and religious system which is in place now. All the problems we face today are brought about by not believing the law and the prophets. Instead our people are told by their pastors how to live a better Christ-centered life in Babylon. I think what William Penn, a great Christian, said in 1668 sums it up nicely:

Those who will not be governed by God will  be ruled  by tyrants.

HAS THE LAW BEEN DONE AWAY WITH?

O how love I thy law! it is my meditation all the day. (Psalms 119:97)

So many in the church today despise the Law of God. They refer to it as being a sort of Old Testament bondage, and even refer to it as being a curse. They say it was nailed to the cross and that we don’t need to worry about keeping the Law anymore – that the work of Christ on the cross did away with the  Law.

That is indeed interesting, because Jesus said “Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 5:17-19)

So then, if we are to believe Christ, the Law of God is not a curse. It is the catalyst through which we receive the blessings of God! “Moreover by them is thy servant warned: and in keeping of them there is great reward.” (Psalm 19:11)
