The Ensign Trust (‘we’, ‘us’ or ‘our’) respects the privacy of all subscribers, enquirers and visitors to the Ensign Message website (‘you’ or ‘your’).
We are committed to safeguarding your personal data and take our data protection responsibilities seriously. We secure all personally identifiable information against unauthorised access, use or disclosure.
Purpose of Processing Personal Data
We collect and process personal data on the lawful basis of ‘Contract’ in order to:
- Fulfill subscriptions to the hard copy version of the Ensign Message magazine.
- Despatch a sample issue of the magazine to enquirers.
- Enable online access to articles included in the most recent issues of the Ensign Message.
- Respond to queries raised by subscribers, enquirers and visitors to the Ensign Message website.
- Provide updates regarding Privacy and Terms & Conditions, as required.
Type of Personal Data Collected
We collect your contact details, (such as your postal address or email address), if you wish to subscribe to the Ensign Message magazine or receive a sample copy, and gather any subsequent correspondence between you and us. If you are a subscriber, we also record the date your last subscription is paid.
We retain personal data for six months after the availability of the last issue of the Ensign Message magazine, whether it is the final issue in a given subscription period or a sample copy. The only exceptions are if you specifically request either (a) the deletion of your personal data earlier than this, or (b) the retention of your personal data after the lapse of this six-month period.
We do not pass your personal data to third parties unless you have specifically given us prior written authorisation for this to happen. The only exception is if we are required under law to share personal data with third parties, in which case you will be informed of this.
Rights Available to Individuals
We recognise that you have:

If you are an online subscriber to the Ensign Message, you can amend or delete your personal data yourself by going to the website and logging in using the “Member Login”, which is at the top of the sidebar on the left-hand side of most pages. Once logged in, you need to go to the Dashboard located at the top left navigation bar under “The Ensign Message” where you can update your information or remove it. You must then click the “Update Profile” button at the bottom of the page to make the changes.
If you are an offline subscriber, you can have your personal data amended or deleted by writing to the Editor at the London address shown below.
International Transfer of Data
The printing, packaging and despatch of hard copy issues of the Ensign Message magazine is handled in its entirety by ourselves in the UK.
The Ensign Message website, together with any details you provide to enable online access to articles included in the most recent issues of the Ensign Message, or queries you submit via the Contact Form, is hosted and maintained by a company based in the United States of America.
