WORLD AFFAIRS
THE YEAR AHEAD OF US:
The year that is past has left us no inheritance of hope for the year that has just started. It was a year of sorrow and fear. The greatest event has surely been the demolition of the two towers in New York on 11 September. It has plunged the whole world economy which was in a shaky state already, into an alarming recession. The shock waves are still rolling across the entire financial world, and will certainly make themselves felt also in this year. Because the world has become one global village, that
which affects the one part, is felt by the whole body. It is as when you bump your toe, the whole body feels the pain.
There are so many factors involved at the same time. No single system or person has the wisdom or the power to govern or control this world state in such a way that ii can both be peaceful and prosperous. When we look at things to come it seems as if we are heading for more conflict and strife. Take for instance one of many examples: On the first of January this year, the twelve states of the European Union introduced the Euro as their common currency. It replaced all their currencies which had been in use for centuries, since the time of the old Roman Empire which dates back to before the time of Christ. Could it be that the intention is for it to be in competition with the American Dollar? Or could it be the aim that these two currencies should merge and become one world currency which will supercede all other currencies? The smaller currencies like the Rand will then disappear. Could this be the reason why the Rand has lost almost double its value against the Dollar in less than a year?
ONE WORLD GOVERNMENT:
The same is the case in the political and State arena. The world trend is toward World Government. It has been strongly propagated ever since the days of the cold war. The theory is that if there is one strong central government, there cannot be any local or regional wars. Then there will be world peace and world progress.
The war in Afghanistan and the search for Bin Laden, is only part of the pattern. The focus is much further and worldwide. As with the Euro and the Dollar in the financial area, so likewise the aim politically and strategically is exactly the same: the Western System under the leadership of the U.S.A. and the European Union, versus the Eastern Group under the leadership of China and Russia. It has already filtered through what they plan to say to the world and to each other at a certain stage so that when they really come to the final clash, they will destroy each other and the world: come let us rather come together and form one world government. Then we can maintain world peace and guarantee world progress. We pool all our weapons, all our money,all our know-how and all our resources. We will then ensure our good fortune and our welfare, our own Utopia. A modern day Tower of Babel. In this System there is no God, man is his own god.
WHAT THEN?
There is no such person on earth who is absolutely all powerful and at the same time absolutely good, wise, gracious and merciful. Such an arrangement has also at the same time not attended at all to the inherent wickedness of the human heart. So, what will be the result? It will lead to the absolute enslavement of the human race and to the utmost hopeless misery, the very portals of hell. The human race will destroy itself. The apple may have a beautiful shine on the outside, and look very tempting for the moment, but inside is the worm, and very soon the rot will appear on the surface also.
Once again the clever economists, political analysts and counsellors will lay all kinds of very so-called learned schemes before us. Who is going to have the courage and the knowledge to lay the finger on the heart of the problem and its solution? Let me be bold enough to say there is a solution and there is a real Counsellor. There is a Manual that has told us in detail what is going to happen. There were times when a certain nation lived very nearly according to that Manual and came very close to a solution, but then drifted away again. Those who study the history of the world very thoroughly, will have picked up these periods in which mankind came close to those peaks of well being and happiness. They found the reasons for the brightness of the flame of progress and also what put out the flame. But right at this moment the climax of time has been reached. The time of forbearance has run out. The world population has reached capacity, the masses are beginning to mill around, the earth has been plundered and its resources depleted. The patient earth is on its death bed. Now the deliverance must come speedily and with power and authority. How is it going to happen? Someone will have to be brave and honest enough to say how. I will try to be that someone.
THE SOLUTION:
The world needs absolute strong and honest government. The head of the Government must be absolutely good, honest and wise. There is no such person on earth. It is here we are compelled to call in the old ancient Manual. The person who rejects it must then look for his own solution. I can guarantee that he will not find it. The Manual says:
“For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.0f the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it withJudgment and with justice from henceforth even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.” – (ISAIAH 9:6,7)
This is repeated and confirmed many tunes in this old Manual. One such we find in JEREMIAH 23:5,6:
“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD that I will raise unto David a righteous branch,and a King shall reign and prosper, and shall execute Judgment and justice on the earth. In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.”
Note a few main points: This King will be absolutely just and will have absolute power. There is no such person on earth. There is only ONE, and His Name is JESUS, and He will come from heaven at His Second Coming. But before He comes many mighty events are going to take place on earth. The power structures that keep mankind in absolute slavery will first have to be broken and totally destroyed. The first is MONEY. We already see the signs of this in the recession that has hit this world and gained momentum with the onslaught of 11 September 2001. This will not improve permanently, but rather get worse. This is foretold clearly in Revelation 18 in the Manual. If you want to know where we stand at present in the fulfilment of Revelation, know for sure that we have entered the destruction of the Great City Babylon. Recall once again in your mind’s eye the crumbling of those two towers on 11 September. This whole money system is going to be destroyed with violence. Those who had become rich through this system and lived lavishly and proudly will be hurt with a great hurt. We are all going to be hurt, because we are all so caught up in this whole wicked system. But to those who had not loved the system (see I JOHN 2:15,17), it will be the birth pangs of the arrival of the New Era, the Golden Age, of the Kingdom of God upon earth.The Apostle Peter writes in this Grand old Manual:
“Nevertheless we, according to his promise, look for new heavens and a new earth, wherein dwelleth righteousness.” – (II PETER 3:13).
A COMPLETELY NEW DISPENSATION:
Not only will this present money system be destroyed completely, but it will be replaced by a whole new economy and a totally new political system. The present much vaunted democracy will vanish completely. It was never God’s intention that the majority should govern. They have never been right. They are those who are manipulated by agitators and smooth talkers. They are the ones who do not think for themselves but who have others to do the thinking for them.
God looks for truth, honesty, integrity diligence (honest labour) firmness of principle. In God’s Kingdom it will not be profit, but service; it will not be what I can get out of my neighbour. but what I can give him. The masses look for instant satisfaction like Esau, not for that eternal value for which they often have to sacrifice the craving of the moment.
ONLY THROUGH VIOLENCE:
This world system is marked by voilence. We see daily how it is on the increase and it will not lessen, but rather increase. But wait until the violence of God comes. The masses will never come to repentance. They are like the weeds among the wheat, of the wrong seed. They are going to be gathered in the time of the harvest by the angels of God, like weeds, and bound in bundles to be burned.
There are anxious days awaiting us. Please read DANIEL 12:1-3: MATTHEW 24:21,22; JEREMIAH 25:30-33 and many related Scriptures. Man, to whom God the Creator entrusted this earth, has destroyed it. Listen to the Prophet Isaiah:
“The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have trangressed the laws, changed the. ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant: Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left.” – (ISAIAH 24:5,6).
Therefore, do not allow the false prophets of this time to deceive you, nor the secular prophets of the economy or politics, neither the spiritual prophets of the Church. Rather prepare yourselves by coming to a genuine repentance and get your entrance into the Kingdom of God through the New Birth. The age old prayer Jesus taught us to pray, is still the only way today:
“Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, etc.”
A better order of things is surely coming, namely God’s Kingdom of righteousness. You can still choose this year, but hurry up; we do not know, perhaps the final reckoning might come this year.
