THE SHAKING OF HEAVEN AND EARTH – IS IT ALREADY HAPPENING?
‘The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake: but the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel. Joel ch. 3 v.16
ENVIRONMENT IN CRISIS
As I write this, many roads, and sadly, a great many homes in parts of England have experienced flooding. A few weeks ago, Hurricane Sandy devastated New York and many areas of the Eastern USA. Catastrophic weather systems are on the increase. We hear of earthquakes, tornados, hurricanes, typhoons, tsunamis, flooding, fire, volcanic eruptions – disasters of all types.
If the warnings of the ecologists are true, with regard to the depletion of natural resources and of the Ozone Layer, then it would appear time has already run out for this planet! Many are burying their heads in the sand, believing these are merely false alarms, designed to facilitate greater interference and control. Even if that were true, many signs seem to indicate that THE EARTH ITSELF IS IN CRISIS!
ECONOMY IN CRISIS
The European and Global economic crisis is perpetuating our own problems. I am totally convinced that there is only ONE WAY FORWARD FOR BRITAIN, in order to alleviate, in the short term at least, its economic crisis. That is an IMMEDIATE REFERENDUM AND URGENT WITHDRAWAL FROM THE EU – NOW! The words of
Revelation ch. 18 v.4 are surely an urgent prophetic warning for Great Britain ‘… Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues’.
In the 16th Century, Britain was brought out from religious bondage to the See of Rome. It is now time to be delivered from the oppression brought about by the Treaty of Rome, and subsequent legislation, thereby restoring our political and economic sovereignty. According to figures recently released, the UK’s contribution to the EU is now in excess of 50 Million Pounds (50,000,000) per day! If we were not making that crazy daily contribution, don’t you think it might help our economy? Why doesn’t the govermnent help itself, and help us all?
SOCIETY IN CRISIS – BROKEN BRITAIN – EVEN MORE BROKEN!
The continued social and moral decline is rapidly accelerating. With drug and alcohol abuse reaching epidemic proportions, gambling escalating, and total moral and social breakdown – no wonder our people seem to be facing increasing danger even in their own homes, let alone walking the streets. Britain is more BROKEN than ever!
Is it not ironic that the present Conservative leadership campaigned for government on the pretext of healing ‘Broken Britain’? Yet now, they plan to further the brokenness of Britain’s families, by undermining Marriage itself. Marriage is a Divine Institution ordained by God for the purpose of Matrimony. It is, by definition, the joining together of the two genders of the human dichotomy, male and female, to form a whole, and for the purpose of bringing children to birth as God and nature intends. Same-sex marriage is a contradiction in terms, that would change forever the meaning of Marriage. It goes against both instinct and nature. All of nature is made up of opposite complementary elements. The psychological make-up of a human being, from childhood, instinctively relates to a father and mother, male and female, as the basis of the family unit. Those who advocate changing this natural order give no consideration for its devastating implications, for the family, and for society, in the future. It is biologically, psychologically, sociologically, morally and spiritually WRONG! As stated, sadly the breakdown of true marriage and family values only lead to further BROKENNESS in society!
CHRISTIANITY IN CRISIS
Almost immediately after the Prime Minister gave a speech, paying lip-service to Britain’s Christian heritage, his Government launched a double-barrelled attack against Christianity, removing the right of Christians to wear a Cross at work, and planning to change the nature of Marriage, redefining it by legalising a same-sex parody of ‘marriage’. Government policy is clearly geared to undermining our Christian heritage by secularising Britain and attacking our time-tested Christian values. Now Government interference is attempting to dictate Church policy also.
NATIONS IN CRISIS
There are wars and conflicts in many parts of the world, especially in the Middle-East, the Israeli-Palestinian Conflict, the so-called Arab-Spring, the Syrian Crisis etc.
THE EARTH IN CRISIS
It could be said the Earth itself is in crisis! An American seismologist on a BBC News programme discussing earthquakes said ‘The earth is very angry’. In fact, the earth ‘… groaneth and travaileth in pain …’ as it anticipates the ‘… manifestation of the sons of God’ – Romans ch.8 vv 19-22.
HAS THE SHAKING STARTED?
Hebrews ch. 12 vv 26-27 tells us that EVERYTHING in the heavens and the earth that CAN BE SHAKEN – WILL BE SHAKEN, so that only those things that CANNOT BE SHAKEN will remain! This ‘SHAKING’ is prophesied in many other places also, such as Haggai ch.2 vv 6-7 & 21. God stated in Isaiah ch. 13 v.13 ‘Therefore I will shake the heavens, and the earth shall remove out of her place, in the wrath of the LORD of hosts, and in the day of his fierce anger’. In Isaiah ch. 24 v.18, God warned that even the foundations of the earth would be shaken! In prophetic language, that also refers to the shaking of the earth’s political, religious and economic systems. In other words, God will SHAKE everything that can be shaken!
Jeremiah ch.25 is a panoramic prophecy of Divine judgement on Babylon and all associated and succeeding powers that have epitomised Babylon to this present time culminating, in verses 29-38, in a world- wide outpouring of the judgement of God on all nations, and even the earth itself. In Luke ch.2 1 vv 25-26, Jesus warned there would be ‘… distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear.., for the powers of heaven shall be shaken’.
Ezekiel ch.38 v.19 warns of a ‘… great shaking in the land of Israel;’ and Joel ch.3 v.16 states – ‘The LORD also shall roar out of Zion, and utter his voice from Jerusalem; and the heavens and the earth shall shake
…’, but He also says that in that day ‘… the LORD will be the hope of his people, and the strength of the children of Israel’.
NOW IS THE TIME TO TRUST IN THE PROMISES OF THE GOD OF ISRAEL!
‘God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. ‘… ‘God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted The LORD of hosts is with us; the God ofJacob is our refuge. Selah’ Psalm 46 vv 1-3 & 5-7
‘For thus saith the LORD of hosts; Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, and the earth, and the sea, and the dry land; And I will shake all nations, and the desire of all nations shall come: and I will fill this house with glory, saith the LORD of hosts. The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts. The glory of this latter house shall be greater than of the former, saith the LORD of hosts: and in this place will I give peace, saith the LORD of hosts. Haggai ch.2 vv-6-9
