THE COMMON MARKET – THE DIVINE DIRECTION: ‘COME OUT!’
MANY shrewd Marketeers can advance cogent evidence for Britain remaining in the E.E.C. Considerations of defence, political unity and financial stability are quoted, with a good degree of worldly sense and logic. On the other hand, opponents can and do produce a wealth of reasoning to the contrary.
But those who view today’s events in the light of Scriptural direction, have the only firm base of support. They have knowledge of Divine instruction for our Israel-Britain in these tempestuous times which speaks of an End of the Age power bloc, comparable in spirit and ruthless resolve with the empire of Rome at her zenith; but far surpassing her in terms of sheer tyranny. Scripture advises that this dreadful consortium will demoralise and dominate the countries which, until the days of 1914-18, were regarded as the nations of Christendom.
We are now seeing the final stages of this long-foreseen Satanic agglomeration. Despite N.A.T.O.-and notwithstanding the present apparent economic competence and well-being of some of the Continental nations the shadow of the Russian colossus is already falling across Western Europe. For all practical purposes, Italy, Turkey, Greece and Portugal have already perished by the wayside. Even chauvinistic France is looking halfhearted, in face of nagging Left-Wing subversion. No wonder that Germany so ardently desires the psychological stability of Britain in the E.E.C.
There are many hard-bitten observers-particularly in the realm of Defence-who are convinced that the time is not far distant when N.A.T.O. may be written off as an effective counter to Russia’s plan for expansion. In such case, the Common Market will follow the Continental European nations into oblivion.
God’s instructions in this matter are almost brutally emphatic. He says:
‘COME OUT!’
