THE ENSIGN MESSAGE

OUR WORK FOR GOD IS NOT YET DONE!

By

England

As I embark on this article it is to make people aware of what  the  Bible is saying to us by not stating the obvious, but stating the neglected, ignored  and  that which  is misunderstood.

Let me begin by making it quite clear the Bible is God’s word. The Bible is not to be denied, or changed, it’s validity to be questioned, considered politically incorrect or out of date. If this is allowed to happen then we are talking of a man made religion but not Christianity.

God’s Word is given by an all present, all understanding Father Creator, for Him nothing is unknown or impossible and the Bible is to be accepted and believed by all Christians. It is the fundimental code of all of  our lives and is given by a loving and caring Heavenly Father, who wants the best for us in every aspect of our   lives.

As Christians we need to get to know God’s Word and understand His promise first to Abraham, then Israel and finally to His people throughout the world. We must prayerfully ask God for knowledge and understanding and allow His spirit to enter our lives and speak to us through His Word.

The Lord reaches out to us all and says, trust in Me, put your lives in My hands and in My Word. Only then will our ears hear and our eyes  see and we start to understand  God’s purpose.  No one will ever know God’s plan  for each and everyone of us but as long as we trust and serve Him that’s all He expects and He will take charge of our lives. When Christianity is veiled by man’s agendas taking on dogmas, deceptive ideas and false  doctrine to mislead the spiritually innocent by so called Christian faiths, this must become open  to  the question, what  is behind  these  alternative beliefs.

So what does the Bible tell us?

Let’s start with Abraham, a man whose genealogy stretches all the way back to Adam. A trustworthy person who God chose because his character, substance and faith was true to God. God loved him and his family.

Now the Lord had said unto Abram, get thee out of thy country, and from  thy kindred, and from  thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee: and I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shall be a blessing; and I will bless them that bless thee, and  curse them that curseth thee; and  in thee shall all families  of the earth be blessed.

And when Abram was ninety years old, the Lord appeared to Abram, and said unto him, I am the Almighty God; walk before me, and be thou perfect. And I will make my covenant between me and thee, and will multiply thee exceedingly. And Abram fell on his face: and God talked with him, saying, As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations. Neither shalt thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shalt be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee. And I will make thee exceeding fruitful, and I will make nations of thee, and kings shall come out of thee. And I will establish my covenant between me and thee and thy seed after thee In their generations  for  an everlasting covenant, to be a God unto thee, and to thy seed  after thee.

Genesis 18:17-18 And the Lord said, Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do; seeing that Abraham shall surely become a great and mighty nation, and all nations of the earth shall be blessed in him?

Where are we so far?

  1. God makes His covenant with Abraham.
  2. Abraham has been blessed by God, to be a father of a great and mighty nation.
  3. A father of many nations.
  4. Kings shall come out of thee.
  5. All nations of the world shall be blessed.

Two things we must understand, the first is; Abraham is the father of many nations not all nations, but many nations. The second is, when God says ‘everlasting’, ‘forever’ or for all generations.’ He means exactly that.

God’s promise to Abraham was to Isaac, Jacob and Israel forever and we read after God has tested Abraham with the near sacrifice of Isaac.

By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou has done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: that in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; and in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.

Abraham was a friend and a servant to God. Israel became God’s servant people and took God’s word to the whole world as prophesied.

James 1:1 James, a servant of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ, to the twelve tribes which are scattered  abroad, greeting.

You may ask, would it not have been a lot easier for God to have placed Christ in Rome, the centre of the largest empire, and encouraged the spread of His word to the known world? After all Judea was a small unimportant state at the far end of the Mediterranian within the Roman Empire. Definitely not. God had nurtured Israel through good and bad times, obedience and disobedience, unity and strength, to, rejection and capitivity, so there was going to be no short term fix, because God’s covenant and promise to Israel was forever; and Israel had a job to do; spread Christianity to the whole world.

When we speak to people  about the time of Jacob’s trouble,  and refer directly to what  our Lord  said (Matthew 24 and Luke 21) will precede His return and what Paul says about the end times (2 Timothy 3:1-8), and the terrible state Israel and the world will be in, we are accused of scare mongering and pie in the sky optimism.

But let us not forget who we are and why we are here. We are God’s servant people Israel/Britain and our work is not finished.

Britain and her kindred nations, as the modern day descendants of Israel, have been responsible for the spreading of Christianity throughout the world; their missionaries have travelled to the four corners to serve our Lord, as He instructed His disciples so to do.

The United States being part of Israel has also played her part in spreading God’s word. Remember the blessings Jacob (Israel) bestowed upon Joseph’s sons, Manasseh and Ephraim; where Manasseh (USA) would be a great people but Ephraim (Great Britain) shall be greater and a multitude of nations. (Genesis 48:14-21)

This is confirmed by the histories  of our two great nations.

Matthew 24:14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. Mark 16:15 And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach  the gospel  to every creature.

Acts 10:35-36: But in every nation he that feareth him, and worketh righteousness, is accepted with him. The word which God sent unto the children of Israel, preaching peace by Jesus Christ: He is Lord of all.

Luke 1:54-55. He hath holpen his servant Israel, in remembrance of his mercy; As he spake to our fathers,  to Abraham, and to his seed for  ever.

Luke 2:30-32. For mine eyes have seen thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of  thy people lsrael,

As a matter of interest the Hebrew meaning of the word, British, means; (Brit)  =  covenant,  (Ish)  =   man.

We are there right now

– Just as Israel of old turned their backs to the Lord, ignored His word, ignored His prophets for their own selfish pleasures then suddenly in the blink of an eye as far as the world is concerned their  existence was finished!!

But there is a wonderful purpose to God’s will, we are still His servant people our work is not finished, it is our duty to prepare and warn the  Nations  and fellow Christians  of the imminent  disaster which  confronts us if we do not turn to God, beg His forgiveness and adhere to His word, the Bible. Thanks be to God.

Of course the other question most asked is, how did the tribes of Israel end up in the British Isles, northwestern Europe, USA and the Commonwealth. Well it’s all there in history to support the migration of peoples from Assyria, through the Caucasus, from southeast to northwest Europe and into these islands of ours. Or across the Mediterranean through Spain and onto Britain. Putting it that way seams so easy, and it is. There has been much study and research into this very subject that has proved beyond a shadow of doubt who the British are, how we got here and where we came from.
