DID YOU KNOW THE ANGLO-SAXON-CELTS WERE ISRAELITES?

“The Celts were the first European people north of the Alps to emerge into recordecl history. But the first references to them appear in the sixth and fifth centuries BC when they began to encounter the peoples of the Mediterranean cultures ” (The Celtic Empire, Peter B Ellis, 1990, Pg 9)
The well-respected English historian Sharon Turner (1768-1842) who wrote the monumental work ‘History of the Anglo-Saxons’ and identified their origins south of the Caucasus Mountains, wrote “The migrating Scythians crossed the Araxes, passed out of Asia and suddenly appeared in Europe in the sixth century B.C… The names saxon, Scythian and Goth are used interchangeably.”
In fact many historians record the arrival of millions of dispersed people who flooded into Eastern Europe from Asia Minor starting from the sixth century BC. They poured in through the Caucasus Mountain region and is the reason we are still called “Caucasians” to this day.
What is truly fascinating is that as the House of Israel passed from history having been taken captive by the Assyrians in the seventh century BC and resettled in northern Persia south of the Caucasus Mountains, the Celts and Scythians (Saxons) suddenly burst into recorded history coming from the same direction the Israelites had been settled!
Remember, the nation of Israel had split into two separate nations (Israel and Judah) after King Solomon’s death (1 Kings 12). In the case of the House of Israel, the biblical and historical records tell us that after they were defeated by the Assyrians in 721 BC they were all transported and resettled in northern Persia with no one returning to Palestine except one priest (2 Kings 17:18, 23- 28). They are then said to have migrated north through the Caucasus Mountains and then west through Europe to the land they would be replanted in fulfilment of the words Samuel prophesied to King David (2 Samuel 7:10-11).
This is further confirmed in 2 Esdras 13:40-45 stating after the House of Israel was defeated and resettled by the Assyrians, they took “counsel among themselves, that they would leave the multitudes of the heathen, and go forth into a further country, where never mankind dwelt…For through that country there was a great way to go, namely, of a year and a half: and the same region is called Arsareth”
“Ar” is the Chaldean word for river, and Biblical archaeologist Dr. E. Raymond Capt believed this may refer to Eastern Europe, in the region of modern Romania, where a River Sareth still exists to this day.
In 1723, the French church scholar and Huguenot refugee, Dr. Jacques Abbadie, wrote a book titled, ‘The Triumph of Providence’ in which he stated, “Unless the ten tribes of Israel are flown into the air, or sunk into the earth, they must be those ten Gothic tribes that entered Europe in the fifth century BC…”
Josephus the renowned ancient historian who lived in the first century AD, wrote in his Antiquities of the Jews, Book 2, Chapter 5, v2 that out of all the “entire body of Israel” (12 tribes), only 2 tribes remained in Asia and Europe subject to the Romans since the “ten tribes were beyond Euphrates till now” and were an “immense multitude, and could not be estimated by numbers”. This migration has also been confirmed by many other leading historians, archaeological findings and historical records which is all in fulfilment of the promises and prophesies concerning Israel.
James confirms this writing “to the twelve tribes which are scattered abroad” (James 1:1)
This was in fulfilment of the words previously spoken through the prophets that Christ Himself would search for His sheep and after finding them, bring them out of the nations and look after them in their own land. This is why He commanded His disciples to “Go not into the way of the nations…but go rather to the lost sheep of the house of Israel…” (Matthew 10:5-7).
So while the name ‘Israel’ may have mostly disappeared from the historical records after their captivity, it certainly does not mean the people themselves vanished from off the face of the earth. They had rather become lost amongst the other nations as they migrated to a new land north west of Palestine just as promised (2 Sam 7:10-11). Yahshua or ‘Jesus’ also said “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel” (Matt 15:24) and He surely knew where His ‘lost sheep’ or lost Israelites were to be found since there is nothing hidden from Him. Obviously, they weren’t to be found in Palestine otherwise they wouldn’t be lost!
So what had happened? As they migrated across Europe they had became “scattered abroad”, “lost” and ‘hidden’ among the nations. Becoming known over time by new names including the Khumri, Sacae, Cimmerians, Scythians, Goths, Picts, Scots, Viking, Angles, Jutes, Celts, Saxons and Normans. All different names for the Israelites, linked together by the black Obelisk of Shalmaneser in Babylon, the Behistun Rock in Persia and other monuments, all confirmed by many historians including Herodotus, Pliny, Ptolemy, Josephus and Turner.
An example of this link can be found on the Behistun Rock in Persia which lists in three different ancient languages (Old Persian, Elamite, and Babylonian) the nations and peoples Darius the Great (550 – 486 BC) conquered and ruled over as the King of the Medo-Persian Empire. In the Persian and Elamite versions one of these provinces is called “Scythia” or “Sacae”. In the Babylonian text this province is called “Gimiri”, translated “land of the Cimmerians.” The Behistun Rock inscription therefore establishes that the Sacae lived in the land of the Cimmerians and that they formed part of the people known to the ancients as Scythians. Ancient Greek historian Herodotus also records “the Persians call all the Scythians Sacae” (Polymnia, VII) .
This is of great significance because the Assyrians referred to the Northern Kingdom of Israel in their records, including the Black Obelisk of Shalmaneser (now in the British Museum) as the “Beth-Khumri”. Since “Khumri” and “Gimiri” are phonetically the same in Babylonian (the ‘kh’ was pronounced as a ‘g’) these two names must refer to the same people, the Israelites.
British historian Sharon Turner writes that “The Anglo-Saxons, lowland Scots, Normans, Danes, Norwegians, Swedes …Dutch, Belgians, Lombards and Franks have all sprung from that great fountain of the human race, which we have distinguished by the terms Scythian…or Gothic”; that the “names Saxon, Scythian and Goth are used interchangeably…”; mentions that the ancient Celtic and Cimmerian languages were the same and also says the Keltoi (Celts) were theo same people as the Galatai, and that they, in turn, were the same as the Galli (the Gauls), and that the Keltoi were “one of the branches of the Cimmerian stock”. (Sharon Turner, History of the Anglo-Saxons, Pg 36)
Sir Henry Rawlinson whose work was crucial to the decipherment of cuneiform script wrote after carefully studying the Behistun Rock inscriptions “The identification of the Persian Sacae or Scythians with the people named by the Greeks Kimmerioi [Gimirri or Khumri]…would seem highly probable” (Proceedings of the Royal Asiatic Society, May 12, 1849 , Pg xxi).
The English Scholar and Oxford Professor of Ancient History, George Rawlinson wrote “We have reasonable grounds for regarding the Gimirri, or Cimmerians, who first appeared on the confines of Assyria and Media in the seventh century BC, and the Sacae of the Behistun Rock, nearly two centuries later, as identical with the Beth-Khumree of Samaria , or the Ten Tribes of the House of Israel.” (History of Herodotus, Book VII, p. 378)
Therefore, the link between the House of Israel who were also known as the Gimirri or Khumri; the Scythians and Cimmerians and the Anglo Saxon Celts is established beyond doubt. They were all one and the same people known by different names.
It is interesting to note that another British historian  wrote  “the  word  Keltoi,   or Celts… meaning hidden – the word which gives us the Irish form ceilt, meaning concealment or secret…Thus some believe that Keltoi meant the hidden or secret people…” (Peter B Ellis, The Celtic Empire, Pg 9)
Coincidence? Or the perfect name by which “lost” (secret and hidden) Israel was to become known as just as prophesied? Remember the Anglo Saxon Celtic people are said to have burst into history at the very same time and place that Israel disappeared. Coincidence, I think not!
Sharon Turner continues, “The Saxons were a…Scythian tribe; and of the various Scythian nations which have been recorded, the Sakai, or Sacae, are the people from whom the descent of the Saxons may be inferred with the least violation of probability. Sakai-Suna or the Sons of Sakai, abbreviated into Saksun, which is the same sound as Saxon, seems a reasonable etymology of the word ‘Saxon.’ The Sakai, who in Latin are called Sacae, were an important branch of the Scythian nation. They were so celebrated, that the Persians called all the Scythians by the name of Sacae; and Pliny [the Elder, Roman historian, AD 23- 79] … speaks of them as among the most distinguished people of Scythia (Pliny, lib. vi. c. 19).” (History of the Anglo-Saxons, Pg 87)
It would appear the name ‘Saxon’ which we are also known as, not only bears witness of who we are but is also a direct fulfilment of the promise Yahweh made to Abraham:
“And God said unto Abraham, Let it not be grievous in thy sight because of the lad… for in Isaac shall thy seed be called.” (Gen 21:12)
This promise is confirmed in the New Testament:
“Neither, because they are the seed of Abraham, are they all children: but, In Isaac shall thy seed be called.” (Rom 9:7)
“Of whom it was said, That in Isaac shall thy seed be called” (Heb 11:18)
His people were to be called by the name of Isaac and as Sharon Turner pointed out, the name ‘Saxon‘ comes from the name “Sakai-Suna or the Sons of Sakai“ which can be translated as ‘Sons of Isaac’! This occurred after the House of Israel became known as the “House of Isaac” (Amos 7:16) at the time of Israel’s captivity.
Records of Britain, Wales and Scotland All Confirm They Were Israelites
 Sharon Turner found further proof that the Saxons originated from the same place the Israelites had been resettled in the seventh century BC saying, “This important fact of a part of Armenia having been named Sakasina, is mentioned by [ancient Roman historian) Strabo in another place, and seems to give a geographical locality to our primeval ancestors, and to account for the Persian words that occur in the Saxon language, as they must have come into Armenia from the northern regions of Persia.” (History of the Anglo-Saxons, Volume 1, Pg 59)
Remember the House of Israel was transported to the “northern regions of Persia” south of the Caucasus Mountains which is exactly where the Kingdom of Armenia lay in ancient times. Again, where the Saxons are said to have come from!
The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle, which was originally compiled by the order of King Alfred the Great in approximately 890 AD confirms this “The first inhabitants were the Britons, who came from Armenia, and first peopled Britain southward.”
It is no coincidence that the Welsh tradition also records that the Welsh people came to Britain in ancient times directly from the land of the “Cimmerians”. They even continue to call themselves the “Cymri” or “Cymru“ to this day which is phonetically the same as the names “Gimirri”, “Khumree” and the “Khumri” the Assyrians and Babylonians used for the Israelites.
The Scots also declare in their most important national document, the Scottish Declaration of Independence signed at Arbroath in 1320 AD by the nobles and barons of Scotland, including Robert the Bruce that they were also descendants of the House of Israel who “journeyed from Greater Scythia” to their home in the British Isles.
It declares “Most Holy Father and Lord, we know and from the chronicles and books of the ancients we find that among other famous nations our own, the Scots, has been graced with widespread renown. They journeyed from Greater Scythia by way of the Tyrrhenian Sea and the Pillars of Hercules, and dwelt for a long course of time in Spain among the most savage tribes, but nowhere could they be subdued by any race, however barbarous. Thence they came, twelve hundred years after the people of Israel crossed the Red Sea, to their home in the west where they still live today.”
So we can briefly summarise the evidence as follows:
Descendants of Jacob become known as Israel
Assyrian name for Israel on Shalmaneser’s Black Obelisk was Khumri
Babylonian name for Israel pronounced same as Assyrian Khumri was Gimiri
Behistun Rock inscription identifies the people called Gimiri as the Sak or Sacae
Bible calls Israel House of Isaac (Amos 7:16) phonetically same as Sak or Sacae
Historians identify the Sak or Sacae who migrated into Europe as the Scythians
Historians identify the Gimiri who also migrated into Europe as the Cimmerians
Historians state the Scythians and the Cimmerians became known as the Anglo Saxons and Celts
You may be wondering how the Israelites came to be known as the “Beth Khumri” or “gimiri”?
The answer is simple . The Assyrians and Babylonians started to call the ‘House of Israel’ the “House of Omri” in ‘honour’ of Israel’s King Omri who ruled during the 8th century BC. “Omri” was one of Israel’s most notorious kings (I Kings 16:16-30) who “did worse than all that were before him” and was the father of King Ahab who is recorded as doing even more evil! King Omri had such a lasting impact on Israel that the Prophet Micah records 150 years later at the time of the Assyrian invasion that the Israelites still “observed the statutes of Omri and all the practices of Ahab’s house; you have followed their traditions… ” (Mic 6:16) Interestingly, King Zimri was on the throne before King Omri. I think the connection and origin is pretty clear.
Does it Matter?
Does it matter if we the Anglo Saxon Celtic people really are the descendants of the Biblical Israelites?
Absolutely! Why? Because “Where there is no vision, the people perish… ” (Proverbs 29:18)
Sadly, we have forgotten who we are and where we came from and as a result have lost our way. We have become blinded to our true purpose and destiny as His people. Unless we sober up soon and remember, we will perish.
Why? Because, we will never cherish or protect those things we do not value!
Instead, we continue to take all that we are and have for granted forgetting none of these things came by chance or without sacrifice. Yahweh called us to be His people and to carry out His plans and purpose on earth. He fulfilled in us the wonderful provisions and promises of the covenant made with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob making us a great power and influence in the world. We have been blessed more than any other people or nation, that we might fulfil the purpose for which He called us. Yet, we standby blinded to the enemy which surrounds us plotting and robbing us of all we once were and had.
We have been fooled into believing that our origins, heritage, history, traditions and customs do not matter. Yet, they are of the greatest value and importance! Why? Because, these all display and prove that we are the descendants of the Biblical Israelites and are proof in themselves that Yahweh has kept every one of His promises to our forefathers and therefore can be absolutely trusted.
It is time we remembered the God of our forefathers so we might repent and believe Him once again. Only then will we fulfil our true purpose and destiny as His servant people and truly be a blessing to all the nations of the world.
We the Anglo Saxon Celtic people, not only appeared in history at the same time and place the Israelites disappeared, but we also fulfil in our history every mark the prophets of the bible wrote Israel would be identified by in the future. We settled in the ‘isles of the sea’, north west of Palestine (Isa 24:14-1 5; 49:1,12; 59:19; Jer 3:12-18, 23:8, 31:7-8, 10); became a nation and a community (commonwealth) of nations (Gen 35:10-11; 48:19); we inherited and colonised the desolate places, islands afar off, coastlands and ends of the earth (Isa 49:8; 54:3; Jer 31:8, 10); grew to become the fifth and largest ever empire reaching around the globe (Dan 2:44; Rom 11:25); became a multitude of people as countless as the stars (Gen 15:5); retained our monarchy (Jer 33:17- 26 and 2 Sam 7:12-16); became the chief of nations (Deut 26:19, Amos 6:1); control the world’s sea gates (Gen 22:17, 24:60); are blessed with great wealth (Deut 8:18 and 33:13-17) are renown worldwide for our crops, lamb and beef (Deut 28:3-14); have been a blessing to mankind showing the fruits of righteousness ( Matt 21:43, Gen 18:18) and have been a great  missionary people taking Christianity around the globe (Isa 27:6; 43:2 1; 44:3-5; Mark 16:15 and Matt 7:20) to name only a few examples.
You see, we display in ourselves and our history our own proof that we really are the descendants of the Biblical Israelites. This is further proven by our many shared customs, laws, traditions, emblems, symbols and ceremonies and with that proof, responsibility to serve Him.

What about the Jews?
 Despite all the evidence to the contrary, many will still mistakenly assume the modern day ‘Jews’ must be the descendants of the Biblical Israelites. However, the term ‘Jew ‘ no longer has any racial basis (if it ever did) as it simply refers to anyone who is a convert to ‘Judaism’ (based on the Talmud which originated in Babylon and not the Bible) or anyone who has a ‘Jewish’ mother. It is therefore now merely a religious title like Muslim or Buddhist. As such, ‘Jews’ today come from many different nationalities, but especially the Khazars who were a Turkic-Mongoloid nation from southern Russia who converted to Judaism around the 8th century AD. It was this group who later spread out to become the “Jewish” populations of Eastern Europe.
This confusion is nothing new for according to the biblical records, in Esther’s day “many people of other nationalities became Jews because fear of the Jews had seized them.” (Esther 8:·17)This is why Yahshua labelled them as impostors in John 8 and also warned us about them in the book of Revelation:
“I know thy works, and tribulation, and poverty, (but thou art rich) and I know the blasphemy of them which say they are Jews, and are not, but are the synagogue of Satan.” (Rev 2:9)
“Behold, I will make them of the synagogue of Satan, which say they are Jews , and are not, but do lie… “ (Rev 3:9)
Let’s remember the promises to Israel were specifically made to “Jacob” and his “descendants” and “offspring” and no one else :
So Isaac called for Jacob and blessed him…”May God Almighty bless you and make you fruitful and increase your numbers until you become a community of peoples. May he give you and your descendants the blessing given to Abraham, so that you may take possession of the land where you now reside as a foreigner, the land God gave to Abraham .. .” (Gen 28:1-4)
“Jacob left Beersheba and set out for Harran … He had a dream…There…stood the Lord, and He said: “I am the Lord, the God of your father Abraham and the God of Isaac. I will give you and your descendants the land on which you are lying. Your descendants will be like the dust of the earth, and you will spread out to the west and to the east, to the north and to the south. All peoples on earth will be blessed through you and your offspring. I am with you and will watch over you wherever you go, and I will bring you back to this land…” (Gen 28:10-15)
So while we the Anglo Saxon Celtic people appeared at the same time and place as the House of Israel disappeared; are identified by monuments, historical records and historians as being their descendants and fulfil in our history every mark the prophets of the bible wrote Israel would be identified by in the future, the ‘Jews’ do not.
Of course, I am not saying the Anglo Saxon Celtic people are superior to all others. Quite the opposite! Yahweh chose a specific group of people to be His people and made certain promises to them. We were to be a holy nation and royal priesthood. Our purpose and destiny was to be a servant people, demonstrating His love to all and the blessings which come from following Him and administrating and following His Laws. The promises made, were given that we might be helped and equipped in this difficult endeavour.
All the nations of the world would be invited to see and learn Yahweh’s laws in action and when ready, repent and serve Him themselves, that they might too be blessed. As a result, Israel was to become a blessing to all peoples on the earth.
So you see, there is no superior race. Rather a servant people, serving Yahweh and their fellow man that all might eventually be blessed.
