“CO-INCIDENCES”? Linking Britain with Ancient Israel

11. Topographical Note

Have you ever thought about the astounding phenomenon of the ‘Gulf Stream’ which unseen and un-noticed warms  and comforts us here in these Islands?    Its   physical benefits and natural consequences to us all are incalcuable. Why should we  have  been  blessed with  it? Is this just co incidence? Is it not because this miraculous provision of Nature was pre-ordained by Almighty God for the place he intended to ‘appoint’ for His special People Israel  – the isles  of the  North  and  West:  and  because these islands are the ‘place’ and we are the people He ‘planted ‘.

12. Why was Queen Elizabeth I known as “The Light of Israel”?

In a letter, now in the British Museum, Sir  Francis  Drake, writing to John Fox besought the prayers of Fox that “God may be  glorified, His church, our Queen and Country preserved; the enemies of  truth vanquished, and that we may have continual peace in Israel”!

Now why ‘peace in Israel’ – Why not ‘peace in England’-What did Francis Drake know that made him pray thus? Similar evidence to the above can be read in the ‘dedication’ by the famous Elizabethan topographer John  Norden in his  classic geographical survey of England entitled “Speculum Britanniae” The dedication is to Queen Elizabeth  and starts  as usual with  “To the  High and  Mighty Empress Elizabeth… etc.” but  here follows the  remarkable part:­ “Powerful  protector of the undoubted faith of the Messiah.  The Most Comfortable Nursing Mother of the Israel of God in the British Isles… “Why did Drake, Norden, Raleigh and many others equate Britain with God’s Israel….as if this was common knowledge in those  days? Or was it just co-incidence?

From Norden’s reference to Queen  Elizabeth being the powerful  protector of the undoubted faith of the Messiah’  it seems clear he was no ecumenist!!

13. The Pilgrim Fathers

The Pilgrim Fathers who sailed for the New World in their good ship ‘Mayflower’ kept careful records in which the referred to themselves as ‘the seed of Abraham’ ‘God’s servants’, ‘The Children of Jacob’ ‘His Chosen’ and ‘a vine out of Egypt into this wilderness’. This was rather strange phraseology don’t you think? In addition, they claimed ‘the promise of God to Abraham’ as justification for their expedition! What made them write like this? What did they know of the origin of their Race (dirty word-sorry!) that prompted them to make these claims? Or is it just co – incidence that they used this particular wording?

14. The Scottish Declaration of Independence

The Declaration of Arbroath AD 1320. This is a historic document of immense importance and of unimpeachable authenticity which can be seen by anyone at the Register House in Edinburgh. The Declaration was drawn   up under King Robert the Bruce and was signed and attested by the Seals, not only of King Robert himself but by all the Scottish Chiefs and Nobles. It records the known origin and previous migrations of the Scots, declaring that they came from Greater Scythia, passing through the Pillars of Hercules, sojourned a while in Spain, and thence to settle in Scotland “One thousand two hundred years after the out-going of the People of Israel from Egypt”… The Declaration  ends  by  stating “In their kingdom one hundred and thirteen kings of our own Royal  stock – no  stranger intervening – have reigned”. We know that this was Israel stock of Zarah­ Judah and after King Fergus the Great it was David’s Royal Line also.  Is it co-incidence that  the  Scots declare that they came  from ‘Greater  Scythia’ one of the main regions where the People of Israel spent a considerable time  during the migrations after  their captivity in Assyria?

15. Westminster Abbey

The Abbey  holds  a unique place in the spiritual, historicaland ceremoniallife of the British Nation. All our kings and queens are crowned here and it houses King  Edward the First’s  Coronation Chair  with the Coronation Stone  of Destiny  – ‘Jacob’s  Pillow’ – contained in the seat.

Westminster Abbey is unique in its ecclesiastical status. It is not  a cathedral, and  it has no  bishop’s throne, nor is it a parish church. It is a ‘Royal Peculiar’ – a distinction shared only with St.George’s  Chapel, Windsor. The Dean and Canons  are subject only  to the sovereign: neither the Archbishop of Canterbury nor the Bishop of London have any authority over it.

The  Abbey  abounds in symbolism which links Britain with her  Biblical-Israel origins, particularly when we bear in mind that the RoyalHouse of Britain and our Royal Throne trace  their  descent from  the Royal House  and Throne of David. A striking example is the magnificent great West Window – called by those  who  know ‘The Israel Window’. It contains twenty four  panels, each depicting a particular subject and  the  choice of these  subjects, together with their carefulpositioning is as remarkable as it is significant. At the  top are  three  figures  in line,  the Patriarchs  Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, left  to right in that order  with Isaac in the central position-being He in whom the Abrahamic covenant seed is called (GEN.21:12).  Next  below come the  twelve sons  of Jacob-the progenitors of the Twelve Tribes of Israel. These  figures  are arranged in two  rows  one  above the  other with the  addition of  Moses  and  Aaron representing the  civic   and  religious Heads  of  the Israel Nation. There  are  thus seven figures  in each row and the central positions are occupied by Judah (the  Royal Line) and  Joseph  (The  Birthright Line) respectively. The  central positions in descending order are thus Isaac, Judah and Joseph and below Joseph in the bottom row is placed the Royal Arms of Britain with the  Lion of  Judah. the  Unicorn representing Joseph and the significant motto ‘Dieu et Mon Droit’-God and My (Birth)right. The window was dedicated in I735.

We  cannot but   wonder what influenced  the designers not only to choose those particular subjects but to position them in that especial way, producing eloquent testimony to identify those IsraelPatriarchs with the Nation whose heraldic emblems are there emblazoned below them! Or is it all  just  another co-incidence? Of course it can be said that the Abbey is a place  of worship and therefore it is not surprising that  the  window  should show Biblical subjects. Certainly! – but  we  must then ask  WHY  should Britain‘s Royal Arms be there included-and in that special position? We believe that  window bears  a divinely inspired message  for our nation, pointing to our Identity and Biblical Israel origin; otherwise the inclusion of the RoyalArms is not only an irrelevance, but is totally out of place among the Israel Patriarchs.

CONCLUSIONS

The foregoing pages list a number of items which connect Britain and  our indigenous British people (and people of British and Anglo-Saxon-Celtic stock) with the Northern House of Israel. There is very much more which could and should have been mentioned but space is limited.

As suggested  in the introduction, IF there  were only  a few  of  these  instances then  they  could be dismissed as co-incidences. BUT when there are so many,   their  combined ‘chorus’  just  CAN  NOT  be stifled, neither can  their  combined message be ‘brushed under the   carpet’!!  These links  and similarities with ancient Israel MUST have come-from our  origins; the  customs, ceremonies, traditions, names, etc.  MUST  have  percolated through and persisted  over the   thousands of  years , from generation to generation down to US…or alternatively, they must  have been Divinely  Inspired, and if so we must  ask for what purpose?

Meanwhile, the Lord  has been  carrying out  HIS plan to   preserve  His   Servant Nation Israel (condemned to ‘blindness’ and to total ignorance of their  identity) to form the nucleus of His  KINGDOM to be set up here on Earth  when ‘That  great Day of THE LORD’ comes as it surely will: and also to ‘hand over’  the Royal Throne of David (which IS the Throne of the Lord-See Appendix I) to the Redeemer King of Kings whose right it is. It is for this specific purpose, and to fulfill His Promise in Luke Iv32 that the Lord has so wonderfully preserved David’s  Royal Throne and David’s Royal Line  from  Zedekiah right  down to our own Queen today.

IF THIS  IS  NOT  SO  then  WHAT has become of the ‘lost Ten Tribes of Israel’ -the people whom God swore to preserve, to protect and  to  PLANT  in a ‘PLACE  OF THEIR OWN’ that He had appointed for them? WHERE  in the world is David’s  Royal Throne which God swore  ‘by His Holiness’ should endure FOR  EVER ‘as the sun and  the moon before Him’; and with a descendant of David’s  line reigning upon it perpetually? Or is Our God a liar  and a breaker of His solemn and oft  repeated Covenants?

No one can  fail to see how the Lord has saved, protected and favoured Britain over the centuries­ IN SPITE of  our  disgraceful behaviour. We  have profaned His Holy  Name,  broken His Laws,  and we continue to plumb the  depths of perfidy and degradation as our iniquity abounds. We are a stiff­ necked people-as were  the Israelites!

When we were a God-fearing Christian Nation, and tried to obey  His  voice  we  prospered greatly; but when we  forsook Him, nationally – as now, He chastised us  – as He  said  He  would, just  as He chastised Israel of old. (Another co-incidence?)

Is it a co-incidence that WE, the British, bear ALL the known Identification marks which the Bible gives, by  which Ephraim-Israel may  be  identified? Again space  does not  allow us to enumerate them here, although we have covered some items in passing.

WHY has the Lord so loved and favoured us? He Himself tells us why in Ez.36 v22 etc. “Thus Saith the Lord God: I do not this  for your sakes, 0 House of Israel, but  for My Holy Name’s sake, which ye have profaned among the  heathen whither ye went”. This  could  be the  ultimate and  most telling  ‘co­ incidence’! The Bible makes it quite clear that there is ONLY ONE  PEOPLE to whom God has covenanted such great mercies-in spite of their great sin- ONLY to ‘backsliding Israel! The Lord’s promises were made to NO ONE  ELSE.

Surely  NO people on this earth- other  than  the British, have been SO favoured and protected? Does this fact not indicate that WE, the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic people – MUST  be  the present day  descendants of God’s  Servant  Nation of Israel?  Listen to what  God says to us in ls. 43 vi

“Thus saith the Lord who created thee, 0 Jacob, and He that formed thee, 0 Israel: fear not, for I have  redeemed thee;  I have  called thee by thy name; Thou art MINE”!

Would Almighty God  have  been so  loving, so  long-suffering,  so forgiving, so protective towards any people other than ‘His CHOSEN’, whom He describes as “His peculiar treasure, chosen to be a special people unto Himself, above all other people on the face of the earth”?

POST SCRIPT

Throughout these pages the question “WHY” has been  asked many times. We venture to suggest that the ANSWER to each question, or the reason behind each co-incidence CAN ONLY BE that WE (The British with our  Royal Throne and  Line, and  our  English speaking sister nations, together with all Anglo-Saxon­ Celtic peoples) REALLY   ARE   the  present  day descendants of God’s  ten tribed Northern House  of Israel (the so-called LOST Tribes). We beg you not to confuse God’s ‘lsrael’ with the modern state of Israel, or with the Jews! The authentic Jews are descendants of a remnant of the Southern Kingdom of Judah. The Northern Kingdom of Israel and the great majority of the Tribe of Judah ARE NOT and NEVER HAVE BEEN Jews. The Bible makes  this absolutely clear.

Although we  ourselves and  the world in general are still blind to this fact, Almighty God has never  for one instant lost sight of us. In spite of our sins -for which He had  to put  us away  for a time. His loving care and concern for  us has  continued, un­ interrupted and unchanging from the day he formed us as His people, throughout the centuries while He led us  on  our  migrations to  the  Place He  had appointed for us…right up to this moment! Nor has He deviated from His plan to use us (Israel) when He establishes His Kingdom on this earth. We are still His same People -stiff-necked, wayward, sinful, back­ sliding Israel, though now in modern guise!

APPENDIX I

Explanation is needed of the various  references which have been made  to the Royal Throne of David as being ‘The Throne of the Lord’.

David’s Throne, which was (and still is) the Throne of God’s servant Nation Israel, is referred to in God’s own word as  ‘The Throne of  the  Lord’  (see I CHRON.29:23) ”And Solomon sat on the Throne of the Lord in place of his  father David”. Therefore it is  vitally important to  realise that  Britain’s  Royal Throne  which has descended from  David’s  Throne IS STILL ‘The Throne of the Lord’ and also of God’s people Israel!: Remember also  the  unconditional promises that God made  concerning this Throne. He covenanted to establish it and preserve it for ever. He promised in Luke 1  v 32-33 and in Is. 9 v 6-7 to give the Throne  of his  father  David  to Christ, our Redeemer King when HE comes  in Glory  to take it and to rule over the House  of Jacob for ever.

This is Why The Lord has ensured that this Royal Throne   and  the  Royal Line  did  NOT die  with the capture of Zedekiah and  the death  of his sons. but indeed has endured to this day- otherwise

How can the Lord keep His solemn promise to give Christ the Throne of His father David, if that Throne no longer exists, and there is no throne to give?

Referring right  back  to  Para  I. describing our Coronation service,

This  is Why it is no  co-incidence that when we crown the Sovereign who  is destined to occupy this Throne, and when the great day comes to hand  over this Throne of the Lord to Christ  whose Right  it is: such  trouble is taken  (unwittingly?)  to conform to God’s  instructions for the crowning ceremony. This is why  it is a deeply  Religeous Service,  and NOT  a Civic Ceremony.

This is Why  The  Lord has  so  faithfully  and meticulously fulfilled His  Promise that there would ALWAYS be descendant of  David’s  Line  to sit on David’s  Throne-which is now here in Britain, with his  descendant reigning upon it.  Without honouring this  promise, the fulfilment of God’s other unconditional Covenants would be jeopardised.

How  many  of the people involved in or watching the  Coronation on  T.V.  from the   Archbishops downwards have  the remotest inkling of what  they are really  doing, and WHY the ceremony takes that unique form.  ‘God  moves  in a mysterious way  His wonders to perform’.

A LAST THOUGHT!

Is it a Co- incidence that we have here in Britain, both The Coronation Stone – Jacob’s  Stone of Bethel symbol of The ‘OLD Covenant’ (Gen 28 v 13-18); AND The  Cup  of The Last  Supper,  symbol of The ‘NEW Covenant’ (Mark 14 v 22-24):  which are  the  two surviving ‘Eye Witnesses’ to The Old and  The New Covenants made  by God with His People Israel! Is it by ‘Co-incidence’ that BOTH should have found their separate ways into the keeping of God’s People in His ‘APPOINTED PLACE’?
