CHAPLAIN’S PAGE: TUNNEL VISION
Many of our temporal and church leaders have been blinded with ‘tunnel vision’ – Channel Tunnel Vision! This is an orchestrated leap to Europe, and disaster. The once great British Empire, upon which the sun never set, is now a broken dispirited hasÂ-been. How the mighty have fallen. We willingly give our God-given heritage to those who have no love nor regard for our crumbling remains. Our wonderful, Lord placed His people in a place of safety; the resources available, a temperate climate, in fact, far more than could have been expected for a people adept at bending the rulebook.
A time of temporary revival occurred in the 1700s when a tiny spark of what is to come was manifested. Education, hygiene, crop management, and the Gospel of Salvation were taken to nations who were ignorant of these things. Why was this foreshadowing of the Kingdom allowed to occur? Because at that time we were not ashamed of the Gospel of Christ, and openly proclaimed our faith to the world. As we gradually lost that vision, our standing in the world diminished. This was due, in part, to the watering down of God’s truth by theologians, many from Germany, who taught in our theological colleges.
Today, our history is mocked by academia. Our leaders go cap-in-hand to nations who are prospering, hoping, no doubt for a hand-out of the goodies. The church has nothing to offer, so missionaries came to us doing the jobs that we should be doing! “The beauty of Israel is slain upon thy high places: how are the mighty fallen!” (2 Samuel 1:19). High places in Israel’s history have always had disastrous consequences. There is only one high place of worship acceptable to God, and that is Jerusalem. At present, Satan’s counterfeit stands on that sacred spot.
Even Solomon, that wise man of God, took it upon himself to build a high place, to appease some of his foreign wives!
“Then did Solomon build an high p[ace for Chemosh, the abomination of Moab, in the hill that is before Jerusalem, and for Molech, the abomination for the children of Ammon. And likewise, did he for all his strange wives, which burnt incense and sacrificed unto these  gods” (I Kings 11:7,8)
The occult is on the increase and these activities take place on high places. For a short time, worship on high places was condoned (1 Kings 3:3-4) but after completion of the temple sacrifice at other high places was no longer acceptable to God.
“For they also built them high places, and images, and groves on every high hill and under every green tree. And there were also Sodomites in the land and they did according to all the abominations of the nations which the Lord cast out before the children of lsrael.” (1 Kings 14: 23-24).
Today, we have the church of Christ which has lost the vision. Shortly after His resurrection, the true light was made known by those wonderful men and women who preached the true gospel. That gospel was lost during the dark ages, then came the reformation when that true light shined once more upon the isles. Then arose the counter-reformation, and once again the tentacles of Rome choked the life from the church and the nation.
We now stand at the threshold of a long expected new age. However, before that becomes a reality, we are being forced to watch and endure the death agony of modern Britain being eaten away by every false doctrine. A glance at the early history of Israel reveals startling similarities with this end time: high taxation, corrupt leaders of state, greed, and every man doing that which is right in his own eyes:
“There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.” (Proverbs 12:14).
Every king of Israel was bad and only eight of the twenty of Judah were reasonable. It is always a fact that those at the top have a profound affect upon the whole nation.
We have archbishops, bishops, clergy and pastors who have seriously lost the plot. New ways are constantly being found to fill the empty pews. Even the baptism service no longer requires parents and god parents to renounce the devil. It is now a case of compromise all the way down the slope to extinction. How the devil must be laughing! It never seems to dawn upon the clergy that the time-honoured Gospel of Christ is always fresh, holy and pure. Gimmicks, dancing and clowns have entered the aisles in the isles, and the glory of the Lord has departed. These are the churches which fill the pews book your seat now for all the fun of the fair!
Thank God for the faithful pastors, yes, there are still many today who truly love the Lord, and faithfully keep to His holy word. Why then are they struggling with empty pews? Because several generations of children have been raised in a secular society where evolution has been rammed down their throats. We believers are now classed as dinosaurs and who of today’s generation wants to be anything but ‘cool man’!
Those who have the vision of a new age, Christ’s new age, look forward to the day when this false, spineless, politically correct apology for a church will be no more. In its place there will arise from the ashes a cleansed nation, washed in the blood of Christ. Every trace of Satan’s rule will have been wiped away in Israel’s lands. Pastors after God’s own heart will teach the nations the Gospel of Christ, and the Kingdom truth. May that day come soon!
