THE ENSIGN MESSAGE

A BLANK PAGE

By

I sit here in front of a blank page, thinking I must write an article for Roger, for the Ensign Magazine; but my thoughts are crowded and almost overwhelmed by the wickedness that abounds in the earth today. We are told that our police now are expected to judge our very thoughts as to the intentions in what we say if it seemingly offends anyone. But it is only God who knows our thoughts and intention and He says of man generally:

The LORD knoweth the thoughts of man, that they are vanity. (or wicked, or futile) Psalm 94:11.The whole of this psalm is worth studying.

Again in: Genesis 6:5. And GOD saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.

And in Matthew 19:17: And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but  if  thou  wilt enter into  life, keep the commandments.

On the basis of the above, we should all be under arrest! But our God is more just and merciful than man is to his fellow man.

Our history and heritage, our very race is being erased and now Christian prayers are threatened with criminalization. It all brings to mind

Psalm 83:4 They have said, Come, and let us cut them off from being a nation; that the name of Israel may be no more in remembrance.

All looks very grim out there in the world as this pandemic continues to disrupt our lives, our economy, our health etc., without man’s deliberate attempts to destroy anything remotely connected to the Christian Faith. We have enemies within and without trying to destroy our Kingdom which is no longer United as it once was. These all represent Satan’s final efforts to thwart our LORD’s return.

Satan cannot not win, I know that! The LORD has already overcome sin and death, redeeming His people and offering salvation to all who will accept, by His sacrifice, resurrection and ascension back into heaven where He awaits the time that only God knows, for His return. For now, though, it is already hard going for Christians and no doubt will get worse.

But there are already signs of an awakening, it may be small, it may be vague, it may be only a glimmer, but through and out of this chaos God is working His purpose. For instance, I saw in a paper today that the Book of Common Prayer is making a comeback in online services and especially for young people who are looking for more “traditional comfort”.  It’s a glimmer, they may not fully understand all the references to Israel in it but it’s a start and there are still a few of us left who are able to explain the hidden truths of the Kingdom in God’s Word and behind the prayers in The Book of Common Prayer.

People are slowly beginning to realise that the world of science, politics, and yes the church are not giving them that peace and reassurance that only our LORD JESUS CHRIST can give. Neither eco-warriors, tree-huggers, or climate change prophets or whatever you like to call them will be able to help mankind while mankind continues to be wicked and sinful. We must get right with God if we want to see a better, kinder, healthier world.

God has a specific plan and He is working through it. As human beings we have failed miserably, but thank God, He does not fail, He cannot fail, failure is non-existent with Him.

Our Lord Jesus knew it would be difficult for us in these End Days. He said:

And ye shall be hated of all men for my name’s sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved. –  Mark 13:13.

Hatred of all that is Christian and white, and our history and heritage, has, of late, come in for virulent verbal attacks, all under the guise of “diversity” and “tolerance” and yet we are fast becoming the most intolerant of societies. White people are accused of being born racists, “we can’t help it” they say and so we have to be “re-educated”. This is already being done in our schools and universities. Women are up in arms over their perception of the “Patriarchal” system which they object to both in society and, yes, you’ve guessed it, The Bible! They don’t like God being male, but God Himself said:

Jeremiah 31:9 … for I am a father to Israel, and Ephraim is my firstborn.

Jesus called God, Father many times:

Matthew 5:16 – Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

Matthew 5:45 – That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven: for He maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust.

Matthew 5:48 – Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father  which is in heaven is perfect.

Matthew 6:9 – After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

So, ladies, I say, GET OVER IT! God is our Father and loves us as His children, but as with any loving father, children sometimes have to be chastised in order to bring them back to the right path, and right now we need a lot of chastening! We have gone so far astray from God’s righteousness that I believe only the miracle of His return will save us now.

Those of you who think global warming is a crisis to be fixed by cutting carbon emissions, not eating meat, and all the more weird ideas man is coming up with, think again! God is bringing this age to a close and it will be with …

great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. – Matthew 24:21

And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken.  – Luke 21:25, 26.

But let us not finish on a negative of the future for  those who believe, Jesus also said:

And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh. –  Luke 21:27, 28.

 Alleluia, Come Lord Jesus, Amen.
