AUSTRALIA IN BIBLE PROPHECY?

“Behold, these shall come from far, and l0, these from the north and west:and these from the land of *Terra Australis*.“ Isaiah 49:12
THE last significant land mass to be discovered by European explorers and now celebrated in this, our bicentennial year, was our own great island continent of Australia – Terra Australis – the Great South Land.
God promised Abraham’s descendants would become a great nation and a company of nations and spread abroad to the West, East, North and South. When Jerome translated the prophecies of Isaiah he knew that some of Jacob’s descendants would spread to the far south and unknown regions, hence called ‘Terra Australis Incognita’ meaning the “unknown south land”.
IS THERE A COMPANY OF NATIONS?
The Bible gives us many clues about this company of nations – some are:
a) This group of kindred people would be symbolised by the Lion and the Unicorn.
b) Jacob’s stone is the British Coronation Stone confirmed by a Royal Commission of 1924. This stone is a memorial to God’s promises to spread a company of nations West, East, North and South!
God’s plan uses man with all of his faults. In the Old Testament, the chosen servant nations killed the prophets sent by God. Later as Jacob’s descendants spread south more atrocities were committed.
God is working with a difficult cast in His great plan for the Earth. But out of the atrocities God has worked good… the Crucifixion has brought forgiveness, the Holy Spirit and immortality for all who will come to Jesus.
And with the coming of Jacob’s descendants to *Terra Australis* the message of Christ is now available to those who lived in darkness – if they will receive it.
