PREACH GOD – PREACH CHRIST
(Exodus 24 and 32:15-28; Acts 2:22-41)
PREACH GOD:
Not as an abstract – but as a reality.
Not only as Creator of infinity and infinitesimal but as the ever-present and ever-revealing, personally interested One.
Not as remote in time and space – but as the approaching Redeemer and Judge.
PREACH CHRIST:
Not only as Saviour – but as the Revealer of all the attributes of the Creator-Elohim.
Not only as God-man – but as the Indweller of each of the redeemed.
That Christ redeems, saves, restores. judges, and transforms.
The coming again of Christ!!
Teach not the Sign of the Son. Teach that the Son is even now in the wings for the final act of history.
Teach the reality of the Third Person of the Trinity.
Teach that without the Holy Spirit’s help, Jesus and the Father are inaccessible.
Teach that without the Holy Spirit’s help, the Scriptures are cold print.
Teach that without the Holy Spirit’s help we cannot call Him Lord.
Teach not only gifts of the Holy Spirit – teach the Giver of the gifts.
Teach not that righteousness can be achieved – rather that it is a gift of the Redeeming Christ – to be accepted.
Teach not the Godhead by our human senses and limitations, but that our God transcends all we can ask or think.
