WORLD AFFAIRS
THE year 2000 that has been feared so much is past. I am sure all of us still remember how the Y2K bug was a word that struck us all with terror. We feared all the disasters that were predicted: the money system in chaos because of computers failing, all systems that were computer controlled would come to a standstill like our water supplies because all the pump stations are computer controlled, no electricity, no trains, no aircraft, no transport, and so on. All shops we were told would run out of supplies because there would be no money in circulation because all the Banks had frozen all their services. There would be stampedes by the masses upon the more affluent suburbs and plunder, murder and destruction would result. I could sketch the scene that was expected in still further detail, but I am sure you still remember these speculations very well.
It all did not happen and very early in 2000 the world carried on even more wildly than before. Was all this a final warning to all those who still had ears to hear? After all, it was plain enough for all to see that the twentieth century only ended on the 31 st December 2000. It was only on the 1st January 2001 that the 21st century commenced.
The world developed faster during this past 20th century than in all the previous 19 centuries put together. When we look at the present knowledge and skills of mankind, then it seems as if we only now stand at the threshold of a giant leap that will make all the development of the past century seem like child’s play.
That is if mankind will not wipe itself out. We have had all the means of doing so at our disposal for some time now, and we are almost mad enough already and uncontrolled enough to do so at any moment; it only needs the snap of a finger or the pulling of a trigger. In 1,850 the world population was 1 milliard, in 1,930 it was 2 milliard, in 1,960, 3 milliard and in 2,000 it was over 6 milliard (As a matter of interest the 6th milliard human being was born in Yugoslavia on 12th October 1999). Millions are dying yearly of hunger already.
In this past century man has severely taxed the world’s resources, soiled nature and polluted the atmosphere to such a degree, that large sections of our population are slowly suffocating without them really realising it. God had appointed man to tend and guard and keep the earth (Gen. 2:15, A.0.T.). But he has not done it and exploited and destroyed it for his own selfish and greedy purposes. The prophet Isaiah said: “The earth mourneth and fadeth away, the world languisheth and fadeth away, the haughty people of the earth do languish. The earth also is defiled under the inhabitants thereof; because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore hath the curse devoured the earth, and they that dwell therein are desolate: therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned, and few men left” (Isa. 24:4-6, KJV).
WHAT LIES AHEAD?
It was heartbreaking and pathetic to see again, like every year with New Year’s Day, the masses celebrating and drinking to excess to welcome the New Year. What awaits them this year? Things are far from pretty.
It is one natural disaster upon the other: if it is not drought and scorching heat, it is floods and extreme cold. The one disease and pestilence follows the other; now it is mad cow disease and foot and mouth disease among our animals, then it is malaria, cholera and HIV/Aids among the people. There are wars and skirmishes in several places upon earth, and a devastating clash threatens in the Middle East, it can easily lead to World War III. The Bible tells us clearly that it will start there, and will also be finalised there. The earth literally begins to groan; one earthquake follows the other in ever quickening succession, it is literally as if nature is suffering birth pangs, as it is said in Romans 8:18-22. It almost seems as if the earth is preparing to spew out its inhabitants.
AND HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY?
At the end of the 19th century it was almost the end of the Anglo-Boer War. It was perhaps the most inglorious episode in the entire proud history of the British Empire. At the end of the war the two Republics Transvaal and Orange Free State were destroyed and scorched. The farms were burnt down and the animals destroyed, no crops on the lands and thousands of women and children died in British concentration camps. Those of the men and boys that remained returned to rebuild everything from the ground up. The country stood up within 60 years to become one of the model states of the world. In spite of our vast distances the country became covered with a well knit and organised network of railways, good roads, telegraph and telephone lines, a reliable and efficient postal service and the country was safe with a well disciplined police service. Our army won the respect of the world on land, sea and in the air. In the scientific field we did our own heart transplants and even produced our own atomic bombs.
There was no unemployment and the best schools and universities were built for our non-white population. Our hospitals, both white and non-white, were of the best in Africa. In all our big cities that are so unsafe today, our people could walk around in their streets at night completely safe and unmolested.
Corruption was practically unknown and our judicial system was respected in the world. Our economy was sound and our currency was equal in value to the rest of the world. Many were eager to emigrate to our country. We had to maintain a very rigorous immigration policy to keep our country from being overrun with immigrants. There is nothing of which we have to be ashamed, and much of which to be proud. The picture which is being painted of our country of the past, is malicious, and has a sinister purpose.
WHAT 1S THE EXPLANATION?
When we look at our own country in its present state, and to the future, we briefly see this pattern: It is crime wherever you look, the economy is shaky, there is great poverty, there is racism that is being abetted by the present government with its affirmative action and reversed apartheid. There is almost no hope for a freshly matriculated white person to find any employment anywhere. HIV/Aids has almost become an epidemic. It has been proved beyond a doubt that the murders of our farmers and the numerous assaults on white people on our farms are purposeful attempts to drive our farmers off their farms. The labour laws are of such a nature that it has become almost impossible for a farmer to still make a living. Such high expectations are cultivated among the non-white people, in order to keep the black government in power, that the situation in our country has become almost untenable.
But our whites are also not entirely without blame. We also have fallen away from those high principles, faith and morality that were the life blood of the philosophy and lifestyle of our ancestors. Our faith has become superficial and our national pride has disappeared. The Sabbath is hardly still observed; see hundreds of motor cars on a Sunday at the super markets, the sports fields and the picnic places. There is almost no love any more for our proud past. A nation that is not proud of its heritage will never attain anything of which its descendants can be proud. The explanation for the lack of a sense of its destiny among the white western nations is because they do not know whence they came or whither they are going.
There is a God in heaven who determines and directs the affairs of nations. The pattern is set out clearly for us in the Bible. Jesus Himself said: “Seek ye first the Kingdom of God and His righteousness; and all these things (our earthly needs) shall be added unto you “ (Matt. 6:33). The white man has an origin and a calling. It started with God Himself, and He will both compel and enable us to fulfil it. That is why we are in South Africa, where we actually, humanly speaking, do not belong. Our whole physical make-up actually makes us unfit for this climate and Africa by nature is the country of the black man.
But God had called the white man and ordained him to be His administrators. He told them that He had called them, not because they were more than any other people, because they were actually the least of all people (Deut. 7:7), but because He loved them. That love was an everlasting love (Jer. 31:3), because His seed was in them. Through them He was going to rule the world. He had planted in their hearts, in their innermost being, His everlasting law. The holy Scripture declares emphatically that Jesus will be returning to this earth as King of kings and as Lord of lords to bring this earth back to righteousness and peace without end, with this people as His basis (Isa. 9:6, 7; Jer. 23:5, 6; Ezek.37:24-28).
Our people really do not know who they are, where they come from and whither they are going. It is not preached to them. A completely false Gospel of racial equality and reconciliation is preached to them which does not come from God, but from the father of lies. It is so deeply embedded and so sugar coated that those that refuse it are labelled villains and should be eliminated. That is exactly the position right at this time, that is why our substructure is being undermined, namely our culture and especially our faith. Much blood is yet to flow unfortunately, the murders on our people is but part of it. But the same God who intervened at the right time in the past, and changed the hearts of His people and also delivered them physically, is going to do it again. He never forsakes the work of His hands. I believe we are going to see very clear signs of it in 2,001. Our heavenly father is going to awaken us who believe it to see it. Look out for it!
