SPIRITUALISM NOT ACCORDING TO SCRIPTURE

‘To the law and to the testimony, if they speak not according to this word, it is because there is no light in them.’  Isaiah 8:20.

THE scripture sets forth in a plain way how to seek the Lord, and to increase in knowledge of things eternal. The Holy Spirit takes of the things of Christ. Ye shall receive of mine. He shall lead you into all truth.

‘So why seek ye, the living arnong the dead.’

Dear friend be not deceived, for in the last days there shall be seducing spirits, and doctrines of devils, I Timothy 4:1; II Peter 2:1, causing many to err, and to run after these which work miracles and lying wonders, spoken of in II Thessalonians 2:9; Revelation 16:14. They are spirits of devils working evil upon the earth. Every one that is not with Me is against Me, and is in league with the devil deceiving mankind.

The Holy Spirit is for the well-being of mankind, every manifestation is for man to profit withal. Causing him to live righteous, upright, and holy, walking in the fear of the Lord. The Holy Spirit makes the Atonement of the Lord Jesus effectual in the believer’s life, teaching him to deny ungodliness and worldliness, and to hate sin, and that which is abominable in the eyes of the Lord, at the same time sanctifying and beautifying the life which shall be presented blameless before the Father.

“IT IS FORBIDDEN OF THE LORD”

The Lord forbids any dealings with any that have familiar spirits, (and not to regard them) for such should be put to death, or to seek after wizards to be defiled by them, Leviticus 19:31; Deuteronomy 18:10-13. Remember Saul who sought the witch of Endor? He said to her, divine unto me ‘by the familiar spirit’ I Samuel 28:8. They are familiar spirits who impersonate the dead, and who seek embodiment in human beings. The mediums who open themselves to every foul and evil spirit give themselves to Satan. The comrnandment is to keep thy body unto sanctification and honour and not unto destruction. Many are using such occults for selfish ends to bring much gain … such as the girl of Philippi by soothsaying. When the spirit was cast out she was rendered useless, the hope of their gains was gone. Acts 16: 19.

Such practises are contrary to the will of God and detrimental to the well being of mankind.

“THE STATE OF THE DEAD”

It is plain that the dead cannot return to the earth. Luke 16:26 .

Neither do they know what is going on among the living. ‘For a man is taken away, his sons come to honour, and he knoweth it not, they are brought low but he perceiveth it not of them.’ Job 14:21.

‘The living know that they shall die, but the dead knoweth not anything, the memory of them is forgotten’  Ecelesiastes 9:5.

‘His breath goeth forth, he returneth to his earth, in that very day, his thoughts perish.’ Psalrn 146:4.

‘Also their love, and their hatred, their envy is now perished, neither have they any more a portion for ever in anything that is under the sun’ Ecclesiastes 9:6.

The above is sufficient proof that the dead have already played their part on the earth, seeing they cannot pass from thence. The manifestations of a spiritualistic medium are from satanic powers, which are earthly, sensual, and devilish.

“ITS SOURCE FROM SATAN”

Man is a free moral agent, he can choose good or evil, truth or lies, the power of the Holy Spirit, or the powers of darkness, the cup of the Lord, or the cup of devils. It is unnecessary to have a change of heart to be a medium, a necromancer, enchanter, witch, sorcerer, fortuneteller or a soothsayer or any such like. The people who practice these are of their father the devil. We, are told in the Word that such things are the works of the flesh. Human magnetism, psychic phenomena hypnotism, etc., etc., are defiling and corrupting body and soul, and all shall perish with the using. It is an abomination to the Lord.

“SPIRITS SEEK EMBODIMENT”

The witch of Endor said to Saul when bringing him up, ‘Behold I see Gods ascending out of the earth.’  I Samuel 28:13.

‘And there came forth a spirit and stood before the Lord and said, I will persuade him, – I will go forth and I will be a lying spirit in the rnouth of all his prophets.’ I Kings 22:21-22.

‘When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest and finding none, he saith I will return unto my house whence I came out, and when he corneth he findeth it swept and garnished, then goeth he and taketh to him seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there, and the last state of that man is worse than the first.’ Luke 11:24-26.

“IN BEAST AND REPTILE”

It sought its way into the first medium the serpent, being more subtle than beast. Genesis 3:1.

They sought a place in a herd of swine. For they besought Jesus saying, suffer us to go into the herd of swine, they destroyed even the pigs: and men and women, mostly women, today let these filthy dernons possess their bodies.

Men and wornen of today are opening their beings to the dregs of the spirit world losing all consciousness under its power and influence, and being controlled by inhuman inspirations whose speech shall whisper out of the dust, Isaiah 29:4, causing people to peep and rnutter, Isaiah 8:19-20. He sendeth diviners rnad and He shall be a swift witness against all who practise such. Deceived and being deceived.

Get right with God, and consider your ways. Christ died for you and gave himself for you. ‘Repent and be baptised for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost, for the promise is unto you and to your children and all them that are afar off even as many as the Lord our God shall call.’ Acts 2:38 – Be filled with the Holy Spirit and you will not fulfil the lusts of the flesh.
