THE ENSIGN MESSAGE

KEEP SILENCE BEFORE ME

By

IT has been said, ‘If you do not take someone’s breath away when you say something, then you have not said anything.’ That may or may not be true. We have no desire to leave people gasping for breath or to adopt the role of an alarmist! Nevertheless, it is time something was said concerning the will of God and the Kingdom of God regardless of the consequences. There must be an appeal to the nation to give the voice of God a hearing. There must be plain speaking.

Let us be reminded of the Divine injunction through the Prophet:

‘Keep silence before me, O islands, and let the people renew their strength.’

That is plain speaking, indeed. There is a need for silence before God that His Voice may be heard. Therein will be found salvation, recovery and strength.

The mind of God is revealed in His Word – the Holy Bible. These are the only Scriptures that will ‘Make us wise unto salvation.’ That phrase is all-embracing.

The Lord God has revealed His mind concerning the deep, eternal things of the soul and spirit of man.

The God of Israel has spoken of His plan in and through His Servant Nation, Israel.

God has also spoken of the nations and the setting up of His Kingdom ruled over by Christ Jesus. In all this He has spoken plainly, revealing His mind. He has shown what He thinks and knows of the problems that confront us all. He has spoken of the deep things of man’s soul and of the kingdoms of the world becoming His kingdom on earth.

Since, then, God has revealed His mind and as we can all have access to His word – why not give Him a hearing? We live in an age of self-complacency and apathy. There is also a spirit of uncertainty about everything. There is an ignorance of Holy Scripture that is most appalling.

Our schools and churches are honeycombed by enemies of the Bible. The teaching of Christ has been neglected by those who should uphold it. The worship of the nation is being desecrated by images and whatnots. Home life is breaking down. A wave of crime fills the land. All this and much more may be said.

To continue in this condition is to exist in a fools’ paradise, whereas by facing and accepting the Divine Council we shall find a new factor that will put import and meaning into things. The acceptance of the Divine point of view will change the whole situation; our outlook will be clearer; while our action in every phrase of life will be to the glory of God.

God has spoken. ‘Keep silence before me.’ We have reached a place in man’s history when we do well to ask, ‘What hath God said?’ In the answer will be found the solution for every problem as well as a warning as to future events so that we shall not be unprepared.

Let us remember that God has spoken plainly. There are many voices that have much to say and yet say nothing. Voices that seek to cloak the mind of God, and Jesus Christ, in mystic vapourings. These voices are an insidious lure even to the Christian. The mind of God is clearly revealed in the Bible while the Christ has no need for mystery. This is My Beloved Son, hear ye Him’ is the injunction. What more do we need?

This is also true of things national. His Will is not hidden in occult mystery, so-called. There is no need to confuse the issue. God has spoken plainly, we can, and should, do the same.

God has spoken concerning His Israel peoplethat they shall be a Nation and Company of Nations, and that to this Nation and Kingdom Christ the Lord will return and reign from the Throne of David.

God has also spoken of other nations; of their Confederacy; of their evil thought; of their planned attack on Palestine. In all this He has spoken plainly.

The fact that such a Confederation has not fully developed and that the Armageddon crisis has not been reached indicates that these events are still ahead.

Jesus Christ foretold there would be a great tribulation until the coming of the Kingdom of God. The Kingdom has not come, therefore troublesome times are before us. These are plain facts, as revealed in Holy Scripture, and no federation of men or nations can change the course of future events unless there is an acceptance of, and obedience to, the will of God.

The prophecies of the Bible show that humanity is facing a great crisis and that the Israel nations, that is to say, the Anglo-Saxon-Celtic and kindred people, will be compelled to call upon Almighty God for deliverance.

The advent of Atomic power only serves to emphasise the danger that threatens humanity. It was the annihilation of the human family, surely, that Christ envisaged when He said, ‘Except those days shall be shortened there should be no flesh saved?’ This is, indeed, the period that confronts us all, ‘but,’ added Christ, ‘for the elects sake those days shall be shortened’.

The Elect? It is imperative that we know who they are, for upon them rests a great responsibility. There are two main schools of thought. One holding the view that all who have accepted Christ Jesus as their personal Saviour are The Elect, that is, an election by grace. The second school of thought, while accepting this to be true, maintains there is also an election of race. The Scriptures declare: ‘Israel, Mine Elect,’ and the ‘gifts and calling of God are without repentance.’

Whatever point of view may be held, it should be realised that the deliverance of humanity from annihilation depends upon the Elect, whether of grace or race, walking worthy of their calling and making their election sure.

In view of this grave responsibility, from which there is no escape, and the rapidly approaching crisis and need to call upon the Lord God for deliverance, we plead for an open Book – the Holy Bible. We plead for the Word of God to be given its rightful place in the homes, schools, churches and, in fact, the whole life of the nation.

God has spoken plainly, let us keep silence before Him, to the end that His Word shall be our sure confidence and strength for the days that are ahead.

The Voice of British-Israel calls for Individual and National Repentance and dedication to the service of the Kingdom of God.
